Love my 8500. Can't imagine it getting any better than this for me.

That's cool, I did not realize this model has a fully lumed bezel.

I too had no idea that was a full lume bezel. I can't say I'm a big fan of the "hash marks" on the new PO bezels (broken line from 3-12) but a bezel with lume is a pretty cool move in the right direction.

Sad that there’s no full orange bezel in the current line-up.

There’s a red-orange bezel one though.

Am still convincing myself on which PO to go for -
the James Bond or the orange bezel.

And I suppose that some of us with one covet the other, either instead or as well!

Some really nice pictures. Do you have these shared on your Flickr account? I am curious to take a peek at what camera/settings you're using.

While some color combinations are not my favorite, I think all the different Planet Ocean generations are great. I usually like newer versions better but not with the PO. I just have the latest 8900 because I usually prefer to buy new.

Pretty hard to be the looks on that beauty. Just wish they would have made it in a 45.5mm option as well.

Note that the date indicator font is not 100% reliable - people have asked me to change the date indicators in the C to the one from the D. I refused, but it's possible others may do it without thinking.

Cheers, Al

Can I politely ask why? I didn't realise this would be frowned upon. Or is it more to do with ordering the incorrect parts from Omega and putting your account in jeopardy?

I have a 2500C 42mm PO and the Omega 722250091440E41 date wheel from a 2500D and was going to ask for it to be swapped when it next goes in for a service. I could swap it myself but would be worried about water ingress so wouldn't bother unless I did it immediately before I send it to STS. I just prefer the look of the new font over the standard ETA disk on the 2500C.

The biggest let down of the earlier 2500C PO's in my opinion is the AR coating on the crystal is not as nice as the newer ones. It shows the scratches much more where it has the strong blue/purple colour.

This Goldie at 42mm is my latest Omega addition. I swapped out the croc and deployment strap for a more casual forest green buckle. It’s a handsome little devil in person.

It is easy to deceive potential buyers into thinking they are getting a watch with the 2500d when they are really getting the 2500c. Thus, scamming buyers out of whatever premium the 2500d commands.

I'm another vote for the original 2500 42mm. I reckon the orange bezel of the 2500 is the original representation of the unique colourway of the PO line and therefore just as iconic as the black.

I had an 8500 with grey ceramic bezel also in the past. Awesome watch in terms of finish and quality, but by comparison it was a lot heavier and harder to wear as a daily.

The brushed black ceramic dial includes 18K white gold hour-minute hands and indexes. 😀

I also vote for the 42 mm PO 2500. Here’s mine from 2010. The older, pre-ceramic bezels faded nicely. Works great on the original, albeit somewhat heavy, bracelet with its nice soft edges, as pictured above. Also looks and wears great on a NATO or a vintage Horween leather strap, as pictured here. Accurate as hell! Black or orange bezel, whichever you prefer, but the 2500 is the way to go.

What’s the reference number for this?

This was always my favorite. This really is the one watch I do regret selling. We all make mistakes.

Same for me. I had the 45.5 and even though it was way too big for me, I wish I still had it.
