I guess I should have grabbed it. Already gone. Jeez.

The Gerry Lopez LE that I almost got, lingered on sites like True Facet long after it was sold.

If we define modern as sometime since the beginning of the new Millenium, what do you believe is Omega's most collectible offering to date?

Maybe this?

Hi Guys[emoji137]

Is that you Mr Jones ? Were you trying to inhale deeply as long as possible then hold your breath & contract your abs muscles simultaneously until after the photo was snapped [emoji14] ? Just Kidding Mr Jones[emoji136]

All Speedmasters in Malaysia are collectible Mr Jones , the LE models are most sought after. Of course in the Omega boutiques or local online preowned watch shopping ,the basic Speedies are best sellers literally flying off the shelf ! There's a long queue for LE models so much so that I've already made advance booking ( I use the term Pre-emptive Strike [emoji41] ) for next year's LE !

I'll ask YOU a question Mr @Jones in LA because I think it's arguably a Top 5 Omega's most collectibles

Question :

● Which watch model belongs to both the Speedmaster & Seamaster family ,

● One of the very few Speedies that has an engraved Chronometer title on the dial ,

● It's NOT a Cal 321 or 861 or a Lemania based automatic or a pure quartz ,

● It's the 1st in the family that incorporates both the day & date indicators

●It's the 1st in the family to have the subdials at 6 , 9 & 12

● The only watch that was even subjected in political pressure in US by rivals by invoking the Buy American Act

If we judge off of retail vs typical asking/sales price on the secondary market, it would seem the Silver Snoopy would currently hold the top spot? However, I'm coming up blank on retail for the blue dial Gemini vs current asking price?

The silver snoopy seems to went up in price...again, and listings are trickling down a bit on chrono24. Who would have thought the beagle was so valuable.

That one's on the shortlist, but these always seem to cause a minor stir when they come to market

Now I miss mine... the feels 🙁

I'd also add the 15,000 gauss AT. It'll be viewed similarly to the first Milgauss or Railmaster in a few decades.

I have to say, I thought the AT was a watch that was lost. I considered it not to be a real Seamaster, so not really tool-like. I considered it not to be a Globemaster, so not really formal or dressy. I didn't know what the watch wanted to be so I had written it off.

When we were on the cruise last month, we went into a watch shop in St. Thomas. I tried on almost everything: SM300MC, PO, Globemaster, FOIS and the blue curtain dial AT. I have to say I was blown away by the AT. It really impressed me. The hands and hour markers gleamed like none of the others. The blue dial was an eye-catcher. It was a good size on the wrist too.

In the end, I think that if I were to spend money on a new watch the AT would probably be it. It's a little sporty, it's a little dressy and it's a lot nice. I now have a much higher appreciation for that watch.

As far as collectible goes, I think the first years of the Globemaster Master Chronometer will be collectible. To me that watch is a breakout and future classic. It pays homage in all the right ways but also brings in the technology with the coaxial Master Chronometer, the date window is at 6 which helps the symmetry. It may be just a little to big for me though.

Now the annual calendar version... not so much. The pointer-month is a neat idea but for some reason it just doesn't seem right.

Silver Snoopy.
Gemini IV.
Apollo-Soyuz 35th.
Not necessarily in that order.

Speedsonic? It doesn't qualify under "modern" though.

True Sir , but a long overdue LE reissue would make it very desirable [emoji6]

I say the Snoopy. That's the only LE that really grabs me.

And what about this? First ceramic dial and bezel if I remember correctly.

I think I have a least collectible Omega, because many don't even know it exists.
