Snapped a pic of the spring bar's width, at the business end of the tool...it's 1mm

Seems to fit well...whad'ya think?, roll with it, or not?

Amazon sells a Bergeron (several actually)...this one

http://www.amazon.com/Bergeon-6767-..._watch_12?ie=UTF8&refRID=03FTGK4HWN2N6YX8GM7Z

has a testimonial by another Jake (Jake Flash) that claims to have used it on a Speedmaster Professional, with good success

I'd drop $30 on that tool if I need it but, if the tool I have will do the job...correctly, & w/o harming any part of my Omega, I'll use it

Looks good, and I think you've got the theory down. If you are worried, tape up the lugs in case of mishap. I've never had one, but you never know....

On a percentage base, how much more expensive is Ref.311.30.42.30.01.005?

Great choice. I love mine, and really enjoy using it. My crystal has a couple of marks, more like faint smudges than scratches, but I haven't found that it scratches as easily as people sometimes suggest.
Thanks a lot!! Playing with hesalite reflections on a lazy afternoon! 😀

~~~I think what's been holding me off from removing Omega's watchband, now that I'm satisfied my spring bar tool is acceptable, my eye sight is not that great close up...I wear prescription reading glasses, but even they are not providing me with enough vision, so I was thinking about purchasing an eye loupe, then realized I would need to hold that loupe with one hand, yet I need two hands to remove the spring bar. What to do, what to do, then I thought, I better get a headband loupe set up, so I looked at a few on flea bay and ordered one and it will be coming from New Jersey
I have found that it is not difficult to scratch the underside of the lugs when using a spring bar tool. Fortunately, it's not hard to remove these by polishing (done by watchmaker). Based on my experience, get a jeweler to show you the "proper" way to swap out bracelets / straps. Watches with end pieces are trickier than without. I did & what I learned was an enormous help. By the way, I searched youtube for a vid & there was nothing that even came close to the right way of doing things. It's not agood feeling when you scratch your watch. In this case, better safe than sorry rules!
That's not a watch... That's an Omega Speedmaster!
I've had my Burgeon 6767 for a couple of years and it works perfectly on my Speedmaster. Actually bought 2 replacement tips from Cousins last week, just in case, but the original one is still sharp as. Buy right, buy once.
Awesome watch with a lot of history behind it. The new moon watch's box seems to be the main reason for the price increase by the way.
Think it is going to be retailing at around £3,480, but hey, it's the moon watch.
Hello to all! I just got the "Last Moonwatch" yesterday! Well, before you all react, let me make that clear...
According to my AD, I nabbed the LAST Omega Speedmaster Professional Ref. 3570.50 as all their next orders are the new (more expensive) Ref.311.30.42.30.01.005 (oh boy, that reference is hard to remember!)
Well, to make the long story short, let me share a few pics of my unboxing! Please indulge me...I'm sure you've seen so many of these online...
I love the red Omega box it came with, I heard some members saying this box brittles easily... But it's fine with me... Coz im planning to have this watch for keeps!
Being my first "luxury watch" purchase, this will most likely be treasured and handed down to my children in the future!
I really love how the dial looks so clear with the Hesalite crystal, and how the hesalite bends light and other colors on different angles! I sure do hope it doesn't scratch as easily as I've read. In the one day I've used it, I've already been extra cautious...
My wife was a big influence on this purchase as she was very supportive and encouraging. She would come down with me to our AD and was giving me horological terms as well as the history of the Moonwatch! Talk about a WIS Wife at that! 😀
I love the slim profile and the sexy lugs as well as the interplay of the brushed and polished surfaces! Omega really did great on this! Can't wait to try lots of straps on!
I haven't stopped staring at this beautiful watch all day!
Well done on choosing a classic that you'll be enjoying for years.
