Howdy all. First time here. Just bought my first Omega last night, an orange bezel Planet Ocean. Loving it so far. Tried a few on over the last few years at ADs, but never bit the bullet. Glad I did last night. Been a Breitling guy for a while, and have gone through about 8-10 of them, including my current three. Also have had a few Tags and some other misc. pieces. Just picked up a Grand Seiko Diver as well. Can't wait to get that into my possession.

I live in New York, just had my first child about six months ago, and am an IT consultant. Life is good, and I'm glad I am fortunate enough to be able to participate in this very expensive hobby we all share.

See you all around.

G'Day,
Well I live in Queensland Australia now retired.
My interest is in repairing mechanical watches.
Love taking the tinny out fishing and playing golf but really want a small sail boat to tootle around in by myself.
Was a mad keen yachtsman for many years and was fortunate to skipper my own boats in a few Offshore races. Back in the 80's no mobile computers and aside from HF skeds communication banned . As a result relied on my watch for starts and time travelled etc. Aside from the ships clock ,a wempe which I kept , I relied on my Lemania regate . (1345). With the advent of gps etc I put the lemania to one side for many years . Long story short movement seized up due to salt water ingress and three watchmakers refused to try and fix so I taught myself and over a couple of years rebuilt it (avatar is it when first stripping)
Naturally with the Lemania 1340 being the base for the Omega 1040 etc
my interest turned to Omega. I have rebuilt a 601 and two f300's .
Please stop pushing up the prices of parts or repair Omegas Ha.

Hi everyone,
New member here and my RN is Sean. I have always loved wearing watches, in fact they are the only jewelry type item I will wear. I have never had to much of a collection but that changed last year (2015 actually). My wife surprised me with a Breitling Blackbird for Christmas. Holy cow right 😀 but tbh I did not like it and I asked her to return it, just not my style and I wanted something I could wear. So she turned around and got me a Tag Heuer Link Calibre 5 Day-Date. Much more my speed and it is a watch I will always cherish because it was a gift from her. My collection right now is very small. I have the Tag, a Seiko cocktail time and my LaSalle I received graduating HS. I also have inbound a Omega Cosmic 😀

I find myself drawn towards the vintage Omega and Seiko watches and that is why I joined here. One of the watches I am searching for will be a mint 1965 seamaster, one day I will find one that will speak my name 😉

Hello from Southport.

Joined a while ago but this is my first post. I'm looking to learn more about Omega watches. I bought my first decent watch a few months ago from AD in Manchester. It was a Speedmaster 57. I probably paid too much for it but I love it. I have no follow that up by buying a Seamaster professional 300m mid size.

Hopefully I'll be adding to thse very soon.

Alan

Hello from Toronto, Canada. My name is Scott and I'm involved with a Lloyd's insurance syndicate. I was bitten by the watch bug in high school and my collection has slowly matured since then. I started with a $125 used Movado Museum Moderna, purchased on a watch forum at 17. Next purchase was a Heuer 1000 diver (still worn by fiancée on occasion). Next, during law school, came a Bulgari Diagono Scuba Chronograph (I've always liked the bezel and dial design) - still in the collection as much for sentimental reasons as anything else.

Then came a Seamaster 300M when I started a more adventurous job that took me to a number of remote and slightly more rough and tumble areas.

First really good watch was a 16760 Rolex GMT-Master II, which has been a near constant companion since I bought when I really didn't have the money but did it anyway. To which has since been added a Speedmaster 145.022-69ST "straight writing", 1016 Rolex Explorer gilt dial and Jaeger Lecoultre MUT Moon. Most recently into the fold is a Universal Geneve Evil Nina Compax.

I've also had an IWC GST alarm, Tag Heuer Monaco, Nomos Club, and a few others - I've been keen to buy and sell just to experience as many pieces as possible to fully know where I should take my collection.

Excited to keep learning and building!

Hey all.
Quick introduction from work, so no cool watch pics as of yet.
I just made my first post in another thread, and have a feeling I might seem like pot stirring, so I rushed over to give myself a little boost - a little background.

First Omega: SMP pre coax, since sold ( but still close by, so I can visit )

Currently: Speedmaster Professional
Orange Planet Ocean 2500
Seamaster Master 300
...and some other non-Omega stuff.

I'll put up some action pics in the near future, but for now, the usual. Long time lurker 1st ( 2nd ) time poster. Love the porn here.

Hello to the Omega guys and gals,
I feel I should have done this a long while back, but here goes..

I'm Stewart, a Heuer nut, but I also have a genuine appreciation of Omega. Despite my prevalence for Heuer, my daily chronograph is a good ol' late 80's Speedy Moonwatch (Apollo XI). 😀

Well, I don't post much but I inquired about purchasing a watch and I was banned because I don't post and well.... I work in western Africa. So it seems kind of sketchy lol

My name is Greg and I am a PMC working in generally horrible places, I picked up a seamaster a few months ago after years of wanting one, but on a military income I just couldn't afford it....or my wife not allowing me....to be honest it's probably the latter.

As soon as I put it on I got the itch, I spend most of my off time here in Africa looking on this as well as rolex's site eyeing up my next purchase.

I love the green crystal on the milguass but I have a hard time with Rolex as the off the shelf bands don't fit my giant monkey arms!

I love to laugh and joke and I am always on here, and I'm glad I was reinstated so I can still be part of this awesome community

Hi all. Although I have been a member of the forum for almost a year, and acquired 3 Omegas in that time, it only just dawned on me that I never formally introduced myself in this thread. So please excuse the breach of forum etiquette. Here we go...

So I'm Dave, I live near Chicago and my wife found this forum when looking for a gift last year and we have found it to be an invaluable source of information and is a very welcoming place. I am a NASA and space enthusiast and that drew me to my first Speedmaster last year, and I have a LE 2998 from 2016 I lucked into. Also have a 1961 constellation (that I really love best) although still haven't replaced the crown. All researched and purchased by my wife who read this forum DAILY. I think she likes watches more than I do. But never wears one.

I can't thank enough all the members who have provided information here. Here are some pics. Have a good weekend all.

H all. New to this forum, as of today, but have dabbled in and out of others previously and run a Facebook group for watch enthusiasts (Watch Fans R Us). I'm also on Instagram following lots of watch groups ☺

Have always hankered after an Omega but funds have never been available. I now, though, have just enough though to pay for one of three models which I will ask for advice about in a different post/thread. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. ☺

Greetings OF! My name is Ken and I am a watch addict. I joined some time ago but have spent most of my time on another forum (same username), while lurking and edumacating myself right here. While I own a number of brands, I have a soft spot for Omegas, especially Speedmasters, and own more than a few. 😀 I look forward to becoming a more active member and sharing some pics. Speaking of pics...

Cheers!

Hi all,

I've reached this forums investigating in the net for vintage parts & info for an 70s Flightmaster. I'm a watch lover from Spain. It is really nice to be a very tiny & newby part of this forum.

Best regards

Hi all, another newbie! Thought I'd join the forum since I have my first Omega arriving shortly and quite like a lot of the new models coming out. Just started getting into 'proper' watches a year ago, with two tags to my name so far.

Regards
Andomega
