Hello - I've joined as looking at purchasing a vintage Omega and don't want to get my fingers burned.

Don't really have much knowledge on Omegas to provide any valuable input to the forum but will enjoy reading and picking up knowledge.

    Hello everyone,

I'm mexican- living in Guadalajara (beautiful city), and I love my watches.

The first "fine" watch I owned was Rolex two-tone junior date just wich I bought as a 17 or 18 year old, about 24-25 years ago.
I gave it to my first born about 3 years ago when he turned 17, he loves it.

My first Omega was some 20 more or less years ago. It is an Omega Seamaster James Bond edition. I sent it for maintenece/service yesterday.

I own a few Omegas and a few Rolex but buy mostly I prefer Omega for myself.

I'm self- employed, 1 wife, 1 ex- wife, 5 kids. Some living in California.

Even if I do own a few watches I'm totally ignorant on movement's, types, etc.
    I'm willing to learn.

Oh! Today I bought the Omega Rio 2016 "bullhead" and should recieve it Wednesday as the didn't have it in stock. I can hardly wait!

Another thing... English is not my first language.

Hello, everyone! My name is Will and am a creative writing professor and writer near Atlanta, GA. (That's me at four years of age in my avatar reciting Keats--j/k--not Keats, but probably trying to be something like him ;-)). Anyway, for the past year or so, I've developed an unhealthy fixation on watches, and I acquired a few iconic Omegas, including a Speedmaster Pro 3575.50 and the recent model SMPc in blue. I love them both. My grail watch is a Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar. I look forward to lots of discussion here, and I'm really looking forward to the education this Omega-centric forums' members can give me. My best to you all.

Hey everyone. I'm Mathias from Munich in Germany. I found this forum the other day and have really enjoyed reading around. Decided to join and do some more homework and learn about vintage Omega (Seamaster) watches.
Thanks for all the free advise I already got just from reading on the forum!

    Hi everyone!

I'm Michael from Hampshire here in the UK.

I've loved Videogames since I was a kid and got my first professional job as a Games Tester back when I was around 17 in 2002. From there, I went into more technical testing and then into Videogame Design, working at a company called Lionhead for about 7 years on the Fable games. After that, I moved away from the games industry and into the Software Industry and I'm currently a Lead Tester for an Apple App sales and marketing company.

I've loved watches all my life, owning Seiko Chronograph watches but early this year, I treated my self to my first dream watch which was a Tag Heuer Formula 1 McLaren Special Edition. Now I'm focusing on my second dream watch which is an Omega Seamaster 300M and the reason I signed up to these boards!

I love Motorsport, running, video games and obviously watches! It's a pleasure to meet you all and to come across this fine forum. :)

    Good evening,
My name is Hubert K. and I am an economics undergraduate student at Baruch College in NYC. I am extremely new to horology, but I am a huge fan of quality. I recently took the plunge and purchased my first "real"watch, a Speedmaster Pro from Jomashop (I was extremely weary buying from them, but I must say everything worked out well). For my first watch I wanted something automotive/motorsport related as that is my first love/vice (I own a 2013 Subaru STI, awful experience 4/10 would not recommend). I was not a fan of Tags and the obvious Daytona is way out of my price range, and with some research I ended up with the beautiful and timeless speedmaster. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and becoming a part of the community. Thank you for having me.

    Howdy,

My name is dave and I'm engineer in Erie, PA... but spend so much time on the road for work that you can really consider me from any of these places: Philadelphia, NYC, Baltimore, State College, Hartford, and Cherry Hill. When I'm not engineering, I'm involved in BSA, woodworking, photography and schlepping my kids from activity to activity.

I'm new to the horology thing, but tend to obsess whenever something interests me (the engineer in me coming out). I've always been interested in watches and for whatever reason, that interest has kicked into high gear recently. I'm interested in finding a good vintage Omega to wear as a daily driver dress watch (typical attire in avatar), and my research has led me here.

    Thanks for having me

Luke from the U.S. I've been meandering my way through this hobby for what seems 6-7 years, starting with modern pieces then transitioning more towards vintage pieces. I've transitioned through various modern and vintage pieces trying to find the perfect piece. There are a couple of vintage Omegas that fortunately fit this criterion. I find the evolution of wristwatch design and experiments from the 30s through the 60s fascinating. As a result of sustaining my interest in the hobby, I found myself initially rehabilitating some watches and lately creating one off vintage inspired timepieces. My goal eventually is to make/design a watch case from scratch while repurposing neglected/unloved vintage movements.

    Hello,

My name is Konstantinos, I am of Greek origin 47yo and presently living in Athens, Greece.
I am a Naval Architect by profession, hence the handle chosen here.

My first watch -which draw my interest further into nice timepieces- was a new GMT Master (Coke) 16710 back in 1995, when I graduated from college in the UK.

I continued with purchasing and then trading few on a number of timepieces, especially from 2006 till today, and acquired models from Baume & Mercier (Classima Executive), Rolex SDDS, Daytona and Oyster, IWC (Da Vinci Laureus Flyback chrono), Grand Seiko (Titanium Spring Drive 9R65), Breitling (Superocean Heritage), JLC (Grand Reverso Sun & Moon 8d handwound), Panerai (PAM356), few German pilots (Stowa, Archimede and Laco), Patek Philippe (5712/1A and 5196J), Audemars Piguet (ROC 41mm black dial in ss), and A. Lange & Söhne (Datograph Pt. 950 39mm).

It has been a very fast yet highly enjoyable watch-loving journey so far, and few days ago it became even more interesting when I purchased a new Omega Constellation Day Date in ss with black dial. This is my first Omega and it is a truly marvellous piece for what it costs and for what it delivers.

My intention to learn more about the brand led me to register in this forum.

    Hi

My name is Len, I live in Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa. I am a mechanical engineer, but work in banking.

My first and only watch I bought and owned was a Seiko dive watch in the eighties that I promptly lost diving (apart from an Apple watch I got this year, but that is not really a watch). I recently rediscovered a 1970s Omega Automatic that I inherited 20 years ago. Fascinated by it. I ordered a few books, so has only started the journey. I am not good at selling things, so hobbies ends up taking a lot of space (and may cost a bit more. I also restore and collect old 1980s cars.

Hi, my name is Adrian, I'm from Wyoming, and am currently changing career paths into the fitness industry. I'm 27 years old and have been a fan of watches ever since I watched Casino Royale ten years ago. I have owned several watches throughout the past few years, hoping to settle on the right one, but have always found a reason to flip. It's been a great learning experience, and I think I now understand what I do and don't like in a watch. I'm hoping to start building a collection that I can enjoy with my most recent purchase, a 2254.50, which was the first Omega I ever fell in love with!

    Hi All,
Been on some other watch forums for a while but new here.
Instantly fell in love with my Seamster 300M GMT Chrono after lusting for it for months and finally pulling the trigger.
Now looking for a speedy and researching exactly what I want.

Hello everyone, I'm Teun, almost 30 and living in the Netherlands. I've been active in the world of watches for quite some time, but never been really active on Omegaforums.net. I will try to do so from now on ;)

Let's conclude with a picture of my Speedy (145.012-67):
