I guess that makes sense. Lots of finance and law professionals with disposable income and not a lot of room for large toys like cars and boats.

So, do you guys ever organize "meat-ups"? seriously , I'd like to meet some like minded folks...

A bunch of the NY guys and a couple of internationals just had a meet up a few days ago.

I know that I already have like 4 million posts but just stumbled upon this thread.

my name is rich and I'm a very immature 40 ^ year old semi-serious watch whore from new york, ny (born and raised and still not kicked out yet).

i look forward to making the aquaintance of many of my fellow watch enthusiasts.
Damn, I've just come back from NY. We could have said hello in person !

We met in a hotel lobby & then went to Benjamin's. Sounds like you can arrange something more salubrious 😀

There's a pretty big and active New York / New Jersey crew here, probably the biggest in one location.
What? have you called the exterminators? We had a mouse get in once, live traps worked pretty well. Might could try that.😕

welcome. we have a few Australians here (qld, canberra, syd). I guess a major concern in Darwin, as a watch collector, would be this:

well, that was a fail! I was trying to find the video of the crocodile swallowing the clock in Hook....

Time up here is still calculated by how many XXXX beers you have consumed.

Is XXXX and actual beer or a place filler?

XXXX is a beer. Easy to say when you have had a few.🍺
Each state in Australia seems to favor a certain beer.

👍 , Though on my recent visits to the UK they seem to have had an epiphany , I was served cold beer everywhere. Years ago, not so much.

Hi All, my name is Uwe, and I just joined the forum. I spend a lot of time on WUS, using the same nick. The Speedmaster and Seamaster Pro were among my first automatic watches. I bought both in Dubai in 1997. I sold the Speedy to a friend, but still own the SMP. Years ago I purchased a X-33 which served me well but is gone too. I recently acquired a PO 8500 (traded a Sinn U1000 for a Tudor Black Bay which I traded for the PO) and bought a POC 9300. I'm still contemplating to idea of getting a Speedy with 44mm case, but I'm no rush.
I need to take some pics, and will post them soon...Cheers!!

Welcome Uwe ! Are you from the middle east or did you serve there? There has definitely been some "troopers" in Dubai but not many were watchnuts.
We need to see some pix straightaway !
