December calendar mounted on my JBChampion Apollo 8 orbits the moon on Christmas Eve and we get the first look at just how small and fragile is lifeboat Earth from 256,000 miles away.
My JB Champion with my Sept ‘71 on it. Shame that my wrist is too small so i have to put the calendar it on the lower part of the bracelet. Still on the lookout for a nice Timely set!
You can actually remove some length of the bracelet to make it fit better on a small wrist... There is a DIY tutorial on here it takes about 5mins to do, did on mine and now its fitting perfectly with a normal distance between the watch head and the clasp !

Working on an article about the JB Champion bracelet and the calendars and found these old magazine ads that I thought would be a nice addition to the thread. Remember the good old days when they could be bought for a cool $1.75. I think I might try to order a set. This first one is earliest ad I can find for a set of 1967 calendars.
@JMH76 I would rather see well-researched articles it in a printed magazine... at least a lasting reference
This is wonderful, thanks for bringing it up. I remember my father used those in the 70s and he checked off dates with a ball point pen, I clearly remember how much I liked twisting the soft tin tabs while I was little.
Interesting... it was only a few days ago I came across these contemporary versions https://www.jacksonofficesupply.com/watchcalendars/default.asp
When a project calls for the original you have to track down the original. Just where Google said it would be on page 83, and with a little help from Jeff Bezos from Amazon the November 1967 Boys' Life magazine arrived today just in time to order the new set of 1968 calendars. The pages have a lovely patina...
Thanks for a fond memory.. I can remember my dad (who was not an astronaut) wearing those when I was a kid back in the 60's !
A bit more photographic evidence showing why the 1968 calendars are the coolest. The backup crew for Apollo 8 with both Armstrong and Aldrin with the calendars. Haise blazes his own path and forgoes the calendars. @Emeister shared a picture showing Armstrong wearing the calendar a page back but I think this is the first image I have see with Aldrin using them.
^^^^^^ I've been looking for one of those Omega calendars for years now. I've got one of the similar Russian ones. There's another 1970 one available on a long running eBay listing.
