Well that didn't take long. I guess a bit of curiosity and a quick Google search caused the price increase.

If they sell for that, I'm glad I got my two sets for $65 shipped to EU :)

BTW. Strange that most of those shown in this thread have the writing turned 90 degrees compared to the Western Auto ones, as it must be easiest to read, when being as the last........

I wasn't going to push my luck asking for shipping to Italy so I got in and out fast and had them shipped to the in-laws to bring over.

I have a few sets that have the calendar printed landscape on one side and portrait on the reverse both sides being silver.

    Thanks guys  ;)
I've been checking every day but managed to miss these ones :(
Wonder how many this seller picked up.
Could there be a 1969 shop display out there?

I'd suggest writing to the seller to see if you can still pick one up at the previous price. Communications with him were extremely quick (felt like texting, really), and he was very accommodating.

Don't be saddened by this news but this project is now complete with the last set landing today. The Apollo years are complete.

    1967 (Gemini), 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972 and finally 1970. My preference was unbranded but I'll take them for $10.

Moderators...You can officially close this thread. My work here is done.:p

Excellent. Glad they arrived safely. This is one of the better sets I have seen from 1969. I glad you were able to pick them up.

Just when I thought I could walk away from this topic this new arrival sucked me back in. For the two avid followers of this adventure here you go.

Not an Apollo year but this set has pretty solid aviation chops so worth the pick-up. Not to mention I graduated high school in 1987 so how could I pass them up.

Haha, nice! Once I get my speedies back from service I'll still need to figure out how to trim the mesh length down, right now I haven't any room to fit my calendars!

Ha! This is what always inevitably happens to me. I complete the hunt for something elusive and feel complete for a few weeks but then find myself typing in a search term "just to see what's out there". Next thing you know, BAM! I'm back on the hunt. I know how this ends. This thread is over three years from now when you post pictures of your complete set 2018 wrist calendar. It's a disease, my friend. But I'll be following. Always interesting to see what new sets you're able to dig up. Keep up the good work.

    Thread resurrection :D

3 sets sold today on eBay. Only one was Apollo era but I thought there was enough different about them to add to this thread.
All three sets had two months printed on the one calendar visible at the top of the stack.
Also each has the attractive (to me) hourglass symbol instead of any company advertising.

    1971 - Sold US$37.00

    1978 - Sold US$50.00

    1988 - Sold US$20.50

I'd be interested to hear from any of the three different buyers if all of the calendars in each set had this dual month printing.
From the side on shot below it still looks like there are twelve calendars in each set.

Glad you resurected the thread because I was getting ready to later today.

I just retuned home from vacation and checked in last night and saw these for sale. There was 3 hours left on the 1971 set and I was going to put in a bid for $50 and retire for the evening but I passed. I would also be very interested in seeing if anyone here picked them up because I'm curious as well how the 2 month calendars are spread out over 12 pieces.

I picked up a set of what I believe is one of the first sets of calendars produced in 1966 and will post them later.

I think I have finally answered my own question.

First, sorry to any member here that may have been bidding on this set of calendars but you had to know I was on the prowl when they popped up. It wasn't easy getting up at 3:30am here in Italy to bid.

Judging by the patent grant date of September 12, 1967 I think this set of calendars may be one of the first sets produced. It is a complete unused set of 1966-1967 calendars. The set runs October-December 1966 and January to September 1967.
