Took awhile to locate the original photograph after seeing it posted elsewhere.

Buzz Aldrin with the trifecta of coolness. Straight lug Speedmaster, JB Champion with horned end pieces, and a foldable metal calendar, albiet I'm not sure how he reads it.

Post Apollo 11 world tour 1969.

@The Master of Speed
Great photo I never saw before, of Aldrin wearing the Astronaut pin... do You have by any chance the date when this was taken ?

@TLIGuy
That's part of the Apollo 11 crew in a convertible driving to a banquet with Tito visiting Yugoslavia on October 19, 1969 ...

A public service announcement for anyone still interested in these and anyone looking to finish off their Gene Cernan Apollo 17 105.003 with the JB Champion bracelet combination.

Here is a nice set of 1972 Timely calendars that didn't sell for $9.99 and was recently re-listed.

This could be a nice addition to finish off the Ed White 105.003 JB Champion Apollo 1 tribute combination.

Single January month from the Timely 1967 set of calendars on EBay now.

Here is an interesting new style calendar I ran across last week. I have a soft spot for compete sets of calendars from 1968 so I picked them up. Interesting that you can fold over the tabs as seen on the insert or you can slide the strap through the openings per the instructions on the reverse side of the insert card.

We can keep adding these to the collection... any ide when was the last time these were seen onboard a spaceflight mission ?
I believe JB-Champion steel mesh bracelets were still used in the space shuttle era as this 1985 STS-51G NASA photo shows:

The use of the calendar is not exclusive to the JB bracelet. I’ve observed them on Lovell’s Rolex GMT bracelet as well as other straps.

I have observed their use on crews as late as Apollo 17 if memory serves me correctly.

As far as flown the last I’ve observed is on the JB Champion worn by Gene Cernan on Apollo 10.

Here is a screen shot form the Apollo 10 onboard footage. Cernan's hand is at the bottom left and you can see the 2 tabs of the calendar that fold over the bracelet. I will add that it appears Young wears a calendar as well on Apollo 10.

Not quite - unfortunately - because 1970 wasn't a leap year.
Fair enough, then from March first on it lines up day for day, lol. 😁

Did I miss something historic that happen in 1983?

I know this thread and topic might be responsible for some price inflation but $437 USD is a bit strong. The BIN price was revised down from +$600 USD overnight.
