A C-Case meetup in Boston. Me on the left and @masteroftime on the right. Watches are not in focus but a gray dial .029 - a green dial .017 - a purple/grey dial .017 and his white gold .009 on wrist

We originally got acquainted from the forum as he was seeking a gray dial and he's been my closest collector friend since

Such a blast! Thankful for this forum and the great friendship that it has fostered.

Thankful but less thankful for the vintage watch addiction…

Okay, I'll play too...

Here's my two - Dad's SS 168.029 from 1968, I think, which inspired me to the quest for gold.

Picked up this 18k pink gold example from a boutique seller in Munich about 20 years ago (168.029 BB).

Always fascinated with the different alloys used for yellow, pink, rose, red, white, etc...

Thought I was just going to just get the watch, but it arrived with some other cool stuff too!

Apologies for the quick and dirty phone pics.

I love Omega Forums - so much expertise and good will.

Cheers,

Dan

This watch really has been a labour of love.

I paid what I then thought was a comparatively reasonable price for it although, with hindsight I now realise was probably more than the watch was worth given it’s subsequent journey.

With the help of @kaplan I sourced more appropriate hands and paid to have them fitted and the watch (which ran well) serviced.

Latterly, I’ve had the date wheel and the auto-return wheel (?) replaced.

If I’d known what this watch was going to involve (and cost) I wouldn’t have bought it. (Although I was able to sell the incorrect hands)

That said, it’s been a journey that has bonded me to this particular watch.

The watch has a good bones as they say, with a strong case and a really nice dial - so it was definitely worth the effort.

Awesome looking watches!

Here's my best find of 2025 - still in its raw form, going to install a NOS crystal when I can

I did a big mistake in 2025 and collected 20 or so Cal 23.7 watches, learned my lesson to only stick to C-Case's 😀 It's so hard to go for crystals in varying sizes. I am hoping to sell all of them and buy 1 more C-Case with the proceeds 😁

I sold mine a while back to a good friend and still wish to have it back sometimes. Lovely watch!

Apparently a special one... Have you ever come across another one?
That should be a redial, although I can't say 100%

By the way: i saw on your youtube channel that you have a very similar one. I am curious about the serial number.
I have a couple but serial numbers are all over the place, definitely not stacked

I had the confirmation that it wasn't. Looks alright under the loupe and I've seen another one in Japan.
