So - in respect of taxation on a trade who sets the value ?
Clearly, the buyer and seller could agree that the 'notional' value is $100 (or UK £100 or €100 etc.) so tax would be levied on this 'notional' price (no matter what the 'real world' price was)
Or, do the tax authorities have means to calculate what our collectable watches are worth.
If so, on what do they base this worth, particularly when we are seeing such rapid price increases in certain models.

It is a good point. Except for EU members maybe. But you are assuming that without seeing the watch a trade is not possible? Is it the same for buying?
I bought many watches on the net without seeing them in F2F...Why a trade will be different? We are just 2 sellers involved in the same deal...
I just send a watch today in Belgium for a trade. We both agree to send our watches the same day. What is the problem here?

Anyway... life is too short....let's see what happens... 😉

Can't find the thread showing all the hands for seamatser model.
Unfortunately, I am not able to differenciate radium from tritium by the eyes so your help will be very appreciated.
So I guess I described with the best of my knowledges but i am always happy to learn. My point is of course the colors but we saw so many color variation between hands and dial for 300 that might be not enough to conclude...
Thanks !

I have successfully completed an overseas trade in the past. Just make sure you're dealing with a reputable member, who has a visible history and references.

It is the value as stated on the customs form.

Hahaha,if you are dreamer the logic is still somewhere around you.I hope.

Hope you don't mind that I've tweaked this ever so slightly into a haiku:
