After a bit of advice please. I have a 18k pie pan in mint condition. From Aspreys with all paperwork etc. Please see photos. I’m guessing everyone on here are big omega fans and along with my Rolex so am I. My question is , this watch was bought as an investment piece. Put it away for 20 years and see what happens to the prices. I have worn it twice. I am a big chap with very big wrists and the watch is lost on me. I don’t know wether to stick to my original plan or trade it for a IWC Portuguese chronograph or a speedy. Any thoughts or advice. I want a watch i can wear now and get pleasure out of .....

 

My advice is to go for a Speedy.

Aspleys+Omega Constellation sounds like a winning combination for an investment but it doesn’t always work out that way.
Having the box and papers is a bonus.
However, your Connie is English cased, so that reduces the global desirability that a gold Swiss cased Connie would have. (Regardless that they are of equal quality)
Also the condition isn’t as good as it could be with some foxing on the dial and a fairly heavily polished case.

It still has a value of course but I wouldn’t treat this as an investment piece and go for your plan B of trading it against an alternative that you might like if you don’t want to wear it.

Foxing = patina ??? Sorry disagree about the polishing. The back is almost mint. Thanks for advice though

Nice dial but the lugs and bezel look soft, they often are on gold watches and are a result of polishing. Why do you ask for opinions when you disagree with all that conflict with your preconceptions?

Sorry to disappoint @Rickyp - the medallion is still nice but not mint.
Here is a SS .004 I bought recently.
The lugs and bezel on yours would have been as sharp as this originally which is why I suggested the case had been polished.

I was giving you a considered response to it being an investment piece or whether to trade it.
My advice was as to why it wasn’t an investment piece and that you should trade it.
I hope you took it in the spirit the advice was offered.

 

I just don’t appreciate my watch being pulled to pieces. That’s not the question I was asking. If people think it has faults then they could give the advice to trade it bad not to keep as investment piece. It could be left at that. Simple. My point on a previous post applies again here. 99.999% of people would see this as a very very good condition , lovely vintage omega. It’s a good solid 8 out of 10 but that’s irrelevant and not the question I was asking. Either answer the question or keep the negative comments out of my thread please

Only because you mentioned "investment piece", that's why a vintage Speedy.
Additionally, I've owned a Portuguese and it really didn't compare to my vintage Speedmasters.

Cool. That would have been on my most wanted list as well. I like these Neither watches and always felt I should have one some day...

 

If you're not looking for information about the value of your particular watch as an investment piece, then choosing between the Constellation, and IWC, and a Speedmaster is a purely subjective personal opinion. And based on this quoted comment, I think you've already answered your own question.
