image.jpeg image.jpeg Think I want to trade my Speedy Racing, practically new full set for an SM 300 coaxial also practically new full set. Had a deal sorta worked out. It fell through when he got an immediate cash offer for his. Just on general valuation it seems like a fair trade. Mine is basically mint, his had a couple tiny scratches. If you take out how you feel on either watch, it basically seems like a fair trade? Back to searching I guess!

Honest answer? If I have understood which watch you mean correctly, I would want at least grand on top to take a Racing in exchange for a SM300. Maybe I am out of touch though, what are the respective RRPs?

I thought msrp was nearly he same. So if I can - again- find a guy to trade with who wants to try something different, it can work. I think both are great watches. Just like trying different types. It can't always afford to buy them all.

I think you were getting the better end of the deal on a straight up trade.

Pretty sure the MSRP on the SM300 MCA is $6000 US.

Just had a quick look, yours is circa £3000 RRP, the cheapest SM 300 is nearer £4100. Seems to me you are being a little optimistic in expecting a straight trade.

The sm300's seem to have stronger resale as well.

I would check actual sales on ebay of the two watches for a ballpark of their fair market values. There might be some owners out there willing to make the trade, but I doubt anyone on this or other forums would value them both the same.

Sm 300 for sure espescially straight trade
Sm 300 I think will be classic look and always classy
Your speedy looks super cool, how will the bright colors look to you in 5 years ?
You will be trading a chrono for a time only .. that is in favor of the speedy

Anything else in the collection that may sway votes

Watchuseek has several sm 300 for 3400-3800 usd if you are comfortable dealing on the forums

Well, I guess I'll just hope to put together another trade or put my speedy racing up for sale and pay the difference when I find a minty sm300. Thanks to all for the input.

It is easyer to trade it with some extra money, than sell yours and search for another one!

Looks like I may have to toss in some funds when I find someone to trade with... Bummer. Thanks for the thoughts from the collective.
