I think its a 14755-61 based on the images I saw and the bracelet date.

So, yeah, this happened...

The grandson posted about inheriting it from his grandfather, and I reached out. After some back and forth we agreed on a price and it arrived today.

As the story goes, his grandfather was issued this 300 in the early 1960s from the FAP when he was a Colonel. He rose to be a Major General in the FAP...the highest ranking officer!

Included with the watch were some lapel pins, and I am getting a full history and digital documents from the grandson.

In February the grandson traveled to Peru to see his grandfather who was very ill. On his deathbed he told his grandson about his watches and military documents and awards. Upon his passing the grandson found the 300 in a drawer...so yes, literally a drawer find.

As you can see, it is original and in pretty darn sweet shape. Haven't opened yet, as I don't want to risk scratching the caseback. Some decent DNA on this one.

Pretty excited to add a straight lug Omega to the collection.

Wow just wow, way kool.
You did well I thought about this and thought to myself that the grandson would hold onto it for sentimental reasons.
Wrong again !

Yes...long bracelet. Clasp protected links...factory finish still there.
Could be wrong, but from what you show it looks like
at least 2 can come out from the one side, no?

He shoots, he scores! Again, and again, and again... 👍

p.s.: Can't believe the grandson wouldn't keep that watch. 🙁

This forum is not good for my well being.
I keep thinking I'm inadequate because I've never come across an amazing discovery - what is wrong with me ?
Maybe I need counselling.
Congrats on a great find - I'll put myself in the queue should you need to find it a new home.

Amazing... beautiful watch and super find.... wonder what else is lurking out there? And how to get them...

Wondering if I can persuade the wife that Peru is a great place for a holiday this year..

@michael e had a 14755 original bezel, in nice shape, on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Wonder if it's still available?

I only ever saw one from English auctions for sale...are they one and the same?

you need the excerpt from the archives for beeing a real FAP issued watch. Omegas FAP catalogue and price list only shows the Speedy and the Flightmaster/Railmaster as issue watches. just send your pics and the mvmt. number to the museum curator and ask, if it was sold and delivered to Peru. sometimes they state delivered to the FAP as well. would be very interesting to know. a very fine watch, BTW. kind regards. achim
