What do you all think of the general mix of realistic and cartoon graphic elements on the watch? It’s fair to say that the 45th went all out cartoon even with the 14 secs represented by comic panels. Whereas this 50th has Snoopy and a photo-realistic image of the earth and moon - quite a contrast.

Not sure if everybody has seen this (from anthony.do via Instagram):

Seems to me - to follow-up on the case type reflections from yesterday night - that the new Snoopy uses exactly the same case as the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary. Compare here:
OMEGA_310.20.42.50.01.001_caseback_02.jpg
Omega-Speedmaster-Professional-Silver-Snoopy-50th-Anniversary-2.jpg
This would hint that a) the A11 50th bracelet will fit perfectly and b) that this might be just the future regular Speedy Bracelet?

I think these silver dial versions tend to look better on contrasting textile straps rather than a steel bracelet. But I'd have to see it in person.

It looks SO MUCH nicer on the bracelet.
If it came on that bracelet instead of the blue strap, I think the $9600 price would be justified.

Same... originally I thought I would like it on bracelet more but after seeing the photoshop above and the actual pictures by Fratello, the strap looks much better.

Do you have to like either Rolex or Omega or can you like both, accepting that both Companies have great watches that are a joy to wear on your wrist?

Buy what you like based on whatever criteria you like I say. I find it assuming when people feel the need to defend or justify their purchases. If someone asks why then sure but that's hardly always the case.

It's like all the calls that this watch is "too expensive". The market will determine that soon enough.

Just not in the foreseeable future. It's always a wish for Rolex bashers that the perceived house of cards will soon come tumbling down, but it never does.

Time for me to say "bubble backs"!!!

Fair point, but I don't think a bubble back was ever an aspirational watch for people working their way up the economic and social ladder.

But it is most certainly a counter to the claim that falling prices "never happen"...nothing is forever...

Ah, eBay.

I'll be down in San Diego (near Chula Vista) next weekend.... think I should ask that $28k eBay guy that I want the watch ready for pickup on Oct 14/15 like his ad states?? Lol.

I actually like the release itself, but I also woke up to find a suggested post on a different forum that advertised a white dial black bezel Speedy Reduced from the early 90s as a 'Baby Snoopy' - not the first time I heard the term, actually, but the people trying to cash in on this are ridiculous.

How would this have looked if they replaced the blue with black? That would definitely been a greater homage to Snoopy too.

As it stands I also love this blue version. Hopefully incoming soon to add to my other 2 50th anniversary pieces.

It looks great, tbh, but maybe too close to the previous one? The blue makes my heart go pitter pat.

Nice, but too close to the previous Snoopy and the Mitsukoshi... The blue color really adds something

Black is indeed beautiful, but it's been done several times over the years, no need to repeat it with the latest Snoopy.
