I was sure until you asked.😀
What else could it be?
Can't be 2975. And big logo started 2486 and 2975 probably concurrent

Are you sure that the watch case is Ref 2846? I'm not.

That's why I've been saying that I need more information.

That's just it. I certainly don't know. That information hasn't been given to us yet. The pieces individually all look right.

But do they go together?

What concerns me is not the dipping "r" - that was normal on 50's Seamasters. The alignment of SWISS MADE is a problem in my eyes. The space between the words is dead on the 6:00 marker. Usually, the space is pushed a little to the 5:00 side because Omega aligned the whole phrase to the bottom of the dial, not the two separate words to the bottom marker.

That is going to keep me from bidding. It may turn out to be trivial, but I've NEVER seen a dial that I know to be original have that issue.

That is a really good observation--never made that connection before--and also the actual font of the SWISS MADE looks a bit strange/sloppy, especially when compared to the other analogous dials in this thread. Could be crystal distortion and maybe you guys have seen that font before, albeit later?
I will say that I think it would be pretty tough to do that lovely circular finish and contrasting outer ring ex-factory.
Really beautiful watch, whatever the niggles. And to give the seller the benefit of the doubt re: movement info/pix, sometimes those snap backs are a nightmare to A) open and B) close again.
Best,
T.

Ran across this shot of an excellent XVI - notice how the SWISS MADE is centered to the bottom of the dial?

Here's the first picture from the OP:

Centering looks the same to me, although the marker shape is slightly different.

besides the Swiss Made alignment,
no "m" touch on Seamaster vertical plane
on the eBay watch in discussion

I'm not sure that all the dials are comparable in that way. Find me another two-tone coffin marker dial like that and we can talk.

I'm still voting original Omega, but possibly a service replacement.

Not even Hoi's Vietnam connection is that good.

But he's real close! 😉

I am new to forum but I see oxidation on the hands on an otherwise perfect dial. Is this common?

Good eye! 😉 That's why I think it could be a factory made replacement.

But then again, it could just be the lighting.

gator
sounds like you are coming around to the possibility of a service dial.
i agreed way back that no one is saying it's
not Omega. Just the postulate and possibility that it may be a service
dial. At the least, you see they are not the same.
why would they set the coffin different from other 2 tones with pearl minute marks?
not coherent

Think you need to read my first post in this thread:

Seamaster SS with Coffin markers - Original?

Case is very sharp, looks almost NOS. Dial is of original style, fonts look correct. It's probably original, but could be a service replacement.

I'm thinking this could be the equivalent of the WatchCo Seamaster 300's. NOS replacement dial and case.

Who knows about the movement?

Also, the 12 and 6 don't line up. Appears dial may be rotated?

Or the watch is slightly skewed in the picture.

It happens,

So is this a service dial in an NOS case?

.
See, I knew you were coming around 😀
And you agree the alignment is not the same?
So we agree? Possibly a service dial in an NOS case.
