Seamaster deville Crystal replacement cost....$225 reasonable?

Imho, $225 is a bit much. My watchmaker recently did a job for me (I provided the parts) where he replaced a crown and crystal, in one week, for $40.

I guess it all depends on where you are since markets can vary wildly depending on location. If he’s the only watchmaker in town and you don’t want to send it off, you’re kinda stuck, right?

I agree. I have a call into another guy. The only other option is to put a high quality croc band on it and give it “as is” until I can find another service place. Yes he’s the only game and 175 miles from home. I could always try Brasso myself to eliminate some of the scratches. I thought it would be $100-150 for the crystal job.

Polywatch does great things.

Unless the scratch is really bad, personally I'd just wait until the next service and have it done then. I've had the crystal replaced with legit Omega crystals for MUCH less than $225

Where are you located?

Ellsworth Maine. I did confirm this is an original Omega replacement crystal. They will also give me a photo of the movement and “clean the case” ultrasonically for this cost before installing the crystal. I also get the old crystal back.
