Wow in 2020 they put these photos up, I can't understand it. :whipped:Looks like a service insert, made from 1995-2004. The most recent one is a bit different.

What's up with this bezel? Dot diagonal 90?

A couple of other things jump out: The accent above E looks misplaced, the A looks different, middle leg of the final E doesn't reach the end. Some of the numbers look a little off (7 perhaps a little wide?)... But most obviously the dot neither above or beside 90. Have I mistakenly identified the bezel, or am I missing something?

Keep talking. The cheaters appreciate all your help finding their mistakes. WHY HELP THEM ?
How many collectors own fakes and dont even know ?

The problem is so much bigger than a watch part.

Everyone hates cheaters and liars yet there are so many.

Relax, this topic is well trodden. I respect your opinion, but I think the information is valuable and will continue to share it.

Hi @Speedking, the bezel on Mark II isn't the same as bezel on the original speedy, so not really a comparison.

Yeah but, no but, yeah....more worried about the position of the 250 number and dot on the bez. Mint with papers.

The correct etiquette would be to create your own thread asking for advice. This is a thread about reproduction DON bezels, that becomes a resource for future collectors of Moonwatches. You are polluting it with non-related content. Thanks for understanding

Also, FYI, the "bezel" on the Mark II is actually a "sticker" on the underside of the crystal, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know that anyone has invested much time in exhaustive research on these references as they're fairly inexpensive compared to (most) vintage Speedies.

Sorry God. I knew I should have taken a far more ideologically correct approach to this. Thank you for your advice Eug

You are relatively new to the forum, so it’s all good 👍 As oddboy said, totally different ballgame. DON bezels alone are worth multiples of whole MkII Speedmasters (ie 2-5k just for a bezel). Hence the counterfeiting and value in this particular thread. MkII Speedmaster crystals have the bezel stuck on underneath, and are worth maybe 250. It’s highly unlikely there will be fakes of these. I’m certain you will find creating a thread asking for help (and sharing first what you have found) will yield the result you are after. Thats how I first entered the forum. It works, I promise!

I'm fairly sure there are aftermarket crystals for the MKii Speedmaster as indeed there are for the Moonwatch too. Early MKiis had a slightly different bezel printing to later models, but I've never noticed any premium or interest.

there are variations on the MKII crystal with applied bezel, but you could buy 2 or 3 complete MKII's for the price of a "Good" DON bezel, so generally, I don't think the fakers would invest much in MKII crystals at this point.

Thanks for sharing 👍

One of the "off center 80s" (amongst other mistakes)
