Surprised the seller let me snag this one at my lowball offer! Like the textured dial. Will post update on condition after it arrives tomorrow.

Actually, I didn't see it in this thread.... I just found it searching, but I still feel like a victim of this insanely addictive hobby we love::money:: ! My pile of watches is getting bigger, but my pile of...wait, I don't have a pile of money anymore, it's in watches::jumpy::!

Thank you for this, landed yesterday.

Sorry not to have replied immediately. I have a morbid but very compelling superstition about discussing a watch between the buy and the arrival. Very bad juju.

Glad to hear you got it - I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with it. These one owner/family watches are the best!

"Drawer watches". Sat in the back of a drawer until passed down, and then sold on eBay. Crispy!

Received watch today. I consider myself pretty well versed in these 50's Omegas, but missed some details on this one. Note to self...got to slow down and check things out better. Take another look at the eBay listing and tell me what's right:thumbsup: and what's wrong:thumbsdown: about this watch! The seller didn't try to hide anything. Turns out I know the seller...hopefully he will make things right.

I think 2576s should have cal 342/344 in them, not a 353/355. I think the case should be a 2757/2627.

I would not return it - the dial and movement alone is worth what you paid for the watch.

Bingo! I should have noticed that, but from the pictures the similarity in case style was too close for me.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't notice it until you said something wasn't right! I think you should keep it though, that dial is really nice. You got a good deal, and it might come in handy if you ever see a spare case up for sale.

I agree, partially...The movement is in need of cleaning/repair (balance moves freely but second hand doesn't move, rotor seems ok) To me, $250 is a lot for a non-running movement, project watch!

Looks nice, except probably priced a bit too high for a gold-capped one. At least 25% too high IMO.

Anybody got a shot of the inside of a confirmed 168.010 caseback?

If correct, that's getting into solid gold prices so it's at least $600 too high for a gold capped model.

It'd be much nicer closer to $1000, way too high where it is.
