··ΩF InvestiGatorIn my opinion, it is really not okay to cancel an auction after the fact, only when the selling price does not meet expectations. it is honestly, also about the principle.
Because eBay has separate agreements with both buyer and seller, you are buying the watch from eBay, not the seller. eBay probably has actions they can take against the seller under their separate agreement, but it’s unlikely they will do so, as that could cost them future revenue from that seller.
“Principles” in auctions generally don’t exist. Never have and never will.
