Rotor post?

There are massive marks from rotor scraping on the inside of the caseback, meaning that the rotor post is likely to be knackered. Loose rotor is extremely common on omegas 55X movements and I nearly always have to get it sorted when servicing a newly acquired watch. Sometimes it's an easy fix, other times not.

Ah right! It's blatantly obvious to me now. :whipped: Thank you

This one looks terrible in photos like it has smudges on the dial or something but in the first two photos you can see they’re actually shadows from marks on the crystal and they move around the dial depending on the direction of the light, it’ll be nice when cleaned up, going off in 4 hours

Another Connie on Ebay I was watching sold for £539.03. Not much information from the seller and no photographs of the caseback and movement. Hopefully one of our OF members won this one.

Currently a very good price for a 552 automatic but I’m not sure if I could live with the patinated dial
It’s super hard to tell, it might be lighting or reflection. Looking at the Geneve the coloring changes with the angle. I’d want to contact the seller and ask for another photo in natural light. That or id hope it’s a reflection and stays cheap because of it.

So this is on the more expensive end of the scale but is a very cool piece that really deserves to be restored. Its a DD145.0022 Speedmaster Pro and while it is missing its bezel, this one is actually a really good candidate for an Omega factory service as they should be able to resolve that easily. It has the original two-tone Speedmaster bracelet which is virtually unobtainium and has been lost by many of these and overall is a nice watch with a great dial and hand set that will look great after a full service and bezel is added. These are very uncommon watches, there are only a handful of collectors who have one.

This is how they look when clean and restored, and with correct light balance and a camera that is decent. (Photo from Fratellowatches https://www.fratellowatches.com/speedy-tuesday-omega-speedmaster-professional-dd145-0022/#gref )

Nice, although I'm not sure that I would entrust it to Omega for service.
