Hey guys just a question about the Gold Seamaster that you guys are saying was a great watch.

From the outside it is a very nice looking watch but there is no pictures of the movement or the inside of the back of the case.

Would these not be super important to view before making a judgment on the condition of the watch?

The final price of $1250 GBP which is $1763.34 USD a good price for this watch being that it was 18 KT gold?

Peterbar77 if you click on the link it will take you to eBay and say the auction has ended if you look on the right hand side of the page there is a link and it will take you to “view original item” hope that helps.

Forgive the sexism here (or not, I'll stick with it)

If I had a chance to be with a really beautiful, classy woman I wouldn't need to have a peek in her knickers first; I'd jump at the chance and see about the working parts later...

As the economics in the vintage watch is, for all but a select few models, the movement will be the point of least concern.

A competent watchmaker with reasonable access to parts will always be able to straighten out a common Omega movement. It may lose some originality, but the market doesn't seem to care about this.

A new dial, however...

Interesting to note the "Seamaster" crown on a Constellation without any service marks inside the case back.
Although its an interesting combination I’ve actually seen those specific Naiad clover crowns on several Constellations of this era, including a Deluxe in gold I had a while back here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/naiad-crowns-info.2435/

The weird thing is the naiad crown you would imagine would have been an difficult to find replacement in the period as there really are not many of them at all, so I almost wonder if they may have been used in some markets since there was never a naiad version of the constellation crown. That doesn’t mean its original just that it makes me wonder a bit.

2852 Constellation with patinated dial but overall quite attractive on a GF bracelet no reserve auction

I follow this seller as he is a respected forum member (I think). I took the info as probably true as this is one seller I have "bought".

Just to be clear I’m not saying that crown is correct for the watch just that the specific Naiad variety is a bit of an odd duck and that I’ve seen it on quite a few Constellations of that era at one time or another. Seller is a guy I’ve dealt with before too and a long term forum member

makes me wonder
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune,
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long,
And the forests will echo with laughter.

Sorry, I had a hippie flashback moment!
Ash will definitely lead us to reason.

It does make me wonder lol. There are things that are wrong but turn out to be right like the long hands on Seamaster pie pan 2627 and 2757 references are wrong for a pie pan dial yet are how those models came from the factory while they also have a mismatch of a 14k case with an 18k dial.

I might actually make a separate thread about it later as I’ve never seen a 10 sided constellation crown with Naiad and while in hindsight it was a bad idea, it’s kind of interesting that they tried putting it on dress watches at all and I’m curious as to which models the naiad crowns actually have been seen on.

Anyone bought a watch from an Albanian ebay seller... the country makes me shy away and when asking questions he refused to confirm the watch serial number until the watch was paid for which makes me more suspicious - any experience?
