I have been looking for a nice vintage seamaster. What is a reasonable price for this watch in your opinion?

I’ll save the stalwarts the trouble here. First, introduce yourself. I don’t suspect you meant to barge in unannounced but knock first and please say hi. Like me and peeps like us, you’re asking advice from folks who spent ages learning and doing the requisite research, and whose expertise you hope to tap. Enough with the admonishing. Now on to your question.

From one Seamaster seeking newbie to another...everyone is looking for a vintage Seamaster!!!! It’s the gateway Omega drug. Prices are all over the map. What shape is it in? What movement and what shape is that in? Year? Series? Seamaster, Geneve, 30, 600, De Ville? You get the idea. I saw a beautiful 1963 Seamaster De Ville auction off on eBay at $1650 CDN (>$1250USD) on the weekend. That, in my opinion, is insanity. But hey. Someone loved it that much so bless him or her. Check all the sites. You’ll soon get a feel for value.

Recently a lot of newcomers have been looking for a good honest Seamaster De Ville. This looks like a nice example to me. I am not always drawn to this seller's watches (and they have listed this one twice, once as an auction and once as a pricey BIN) but I can't see anything wrong here. Monocoque / unishell / (whatever the f* it's called, I couldn't care less) case so the lack of a movement photo isn't automatically grounds for suspicion.

A handful of quality looking 60's Seamaster's popped up from the same seller. Could be worth a shot if prices stay low.

Maybe we should change the title of the thread to: "I am recommending this watch without reservation (on Ebay). I will not ask a question about a watch that I am unsure of. I'm sure that it is correct, it is not overpriced, and I am not the seller"
