This’ll be fun, by the looks of it. I was hoping the chopper might be a reference to da Vinci’s Aerial Screw design (Vite Aerea Rotante) but can’t make it fit. One interesting thing, though - Hitchcock’s 39 Steps was released in 1935, but the Sikorsky didn’t take it’s first flight until 1939. So the whirlybird is anachronous…
It has been noted that some of these puzzles can be head scratchers, while others just jump out at you. That was a tough one, Jim. I’ll let the other code breakers use their google sleuthing to see how this rebus fits together (unless I’m asked to show my workings)
