Cudos to @Matty01 and @Gav1967 for naming Buddy Holly. My first version included a picture of actress Dee Williams. With no answers forthcoming, I did a Google image search on Dee Williams, and drew a blank. So I changed the image to the easily recognized Sandra Dee. As to the 4th clue? There are a number of possibilities, but what I had in mind was hut = shelter = Lee. Safety, protection, etc.

I’ll give the award to @Matty01 , with special mention to @Gav1967 .

The lamp (light) and Dizzy leads me to vertigo, but unable to fit the 2 x 4 and Argentina (Ar?) into that answer.

@TasMike got Dizzy right, but Dizzy isn’t part of the answer. Aside from that, he’s nowhere close on any of the clues.

Clue:

A fictional character in a series of novels telling a story from the 19th century.

Waiting is what the girl is doing. When you find a girl waiting under a street light?

Two to four is a - - - - -!

The tip of South America in mariner terms is often called - - - - - - - !

What is Dizzy Gillespie doing?

You all got enough stress in your lives to be fretting over a rebus. Perhaps these clues will help.

Go to the head of the class @JimInOz . That is the answer.

Clue one: I won’t place the definition here, but it rhymes with HOR

Clue two: 2 to 4 is a RATIO

The tip of South America is known in mariner terms terms at the HORN

Dizzy Gillespie is BLOWING (BLOWER) on his trumpet.

It was quite easy when you laid out the way your mind was working when you compiled the rebus 😉.

First pic - lady waiting = variations of hooker at first but I didn't get further.
The hunk of wood to ration was very subtle.
I should have tied Horn to DG's trumpet in the following picture.

Good mental stimulation though.
