Explain my workings?
OK.
The last pic of the Eiffel Tower suggested a French influence, so:
First picture - The - In French - La or Le
Second picture - A Tower - French for tower is "la tour"
Third picture - Sandra Dee - de is French for "of"
Fourth picture - The Eiffel Tower, a symbol of France.

Therefore, assuming the TDF is masculine, we arrive at "The the Tour de France".
😉

Well, my thought process was a little more prosaic than yours, Jim.

The
Glastonbury Tor
Sandra Dee
Paris - France

Your interpretation is far more eloquent, and fits perfectly, so a double award for you, sir.

National car logo
100/temp
Pawl (Paul)

Roman

Just a wild guess here, but on the right track or heading into a dark tunnel with no exit...

National (car rental) logo- ✔️
100 (temp)- work on it.
Pawl (Paul)- Need a different name for “pawl”.
Calendar- X. This symbol is a meme for something else.
Roman- This clue represents a date. I thought I might add several / to separate the numerals. Maybe a future clue.

This celebration is honoured in the U S and Canada. And the UK. Not sure about elsewhere.

Definitely on track! But I’m asking you to name the occasion, and give me the date as well. Holding your award for the moment. And please show your thread.

Would it be July 20th by any chance - National Hot Dog Day, working off Charlemagne's super clue.
National
hot
Pawl = Paw = dog ??
I can't make sense of the LXXIIXXII.

Sorry to jump in Charlemagne - the win is yours if it's correct - I am hoping your workings will help me put it all together...

The Roman numeral appears to be incorrect for July 20, 2022. I just copied and pasted what someone else offered as the Roman numeral equivalent. What had been interpreted as a “pawl” is often called a “dog”. Anyway! National hot dog day, July 20, 2022 is the answer. I included the meme for an “event” rather than a clue indicating DAY! But you all put it together. The “tag team” wins again!
