Mare Nostrum?

Mar + e = mare
Nose
Strum

Mare Nostrum latin for Our Sea (the Mediterranean and etymology of Mariner, mars, maritime...etc.

Also the European fishing trawler, The Mare Nostrum, which was built at the Spanish harbour of Arenys de Mar. It has an overall length of 15 meters, a beam of 3.5 meters with a displacement of 10 tons, powered by a 40HP diesel engine.

The model of which is currently filling an hour or two of my time after dinner and before bed and a significant part of the dining room table to my wife's chagrin.

Jim had to get that one, being an old sea dog 😁

The model’s looking good. Don’t forget to post a photo when it’s finished!

@blubarb ,

Just to clarify we are only dealing with one Rosenberg. Him. Nothing to do with spies. This rebus has nothing to do with him, but his name is a clue. It has nothing whatever to do with the Rosenbergs being executed for treason. Conjugate the process of someone having almost consumed the meal on the plate. Eaten, ate, consumed, gobbled, et, etc. What is happening in the picture with the tea? The River in the last clue is not in this hemisphere. We saw that River in 2000 when we visited - - - - - - - -.

Well, ol’ faithful, @JimInOz figgered it out.

Julius Rosenberg = JULIUS
Girl in binoculars = SEES HER (CAESER)
Almost empty plate = ET
Antonov biplane = TU
Tea ritual = BRU
The Scottish River = TAY

Ergo, Julius Caesar Et Tu Brute

Well done James. You my hero!

The fun part for me on that rebus is trying to predict which one of you geniuses was going to nail it! I made an error in my clues. I should have used a Russian made Tupolev (TU), instead of an Antonov biplane. But James interpreted the Antonov as TWO (which ended up being TU in his answer.

Yep, red herring?

The Antonov had me on the Mark Antony trail but I couldn't put it all together, so I started from scratch (with a little guidance 😁).

If that is the answer, @TasMike made if look simple.

Workings:

XX with bar = 20,000
6 nautical miles = 2 leagues
Under the sea (as read)
