Too obvious for me! I got hung up trying to find a song title to fit to the cat and neglected to see what was staring me in the face... and Marty Robbins recorded over 500 songs.😲

I hope I am providing the clues correctly, that is, as one word per line - or doesn't that matter?

It's very helpful unless you're looking on a smaller screen size and the images are rearranged. In this case the cat had dropped to the next line on my tablet, but I'll keep that in mind from now on.

Patrick Cassidy’s “Vide Cor Meum,”

An opera about Dante inspired by Hannibal Lecter - hence the opening quote and the reference to Dante - couldn't have solved that without those clues!

It is, indeed
couldn't have solved that without those clues!
An excellent solve, nonetheless

I was wondering if this rebus might have been a little too obscure, even with the clues. Being from a film, It’s not exactly the most well known of arias, but then again I’m not surprised that you solved it.

Well done @TasMike

Thanks @Canuck , but there's an Australian phrase that describes my feat perfectly - 'pure arse'

Rocky Marciano (?)
Mars

Mars, a terrestrial planet.

Mars, the Rocky planet.

Probably wrong, but it’s the best I can do.

I Googled Bruno Mars, as it happens. Not a fan, but happened to have his name jump into my head. I found him, but I doubted it would be him! 🤦 Close only counts in horseshoes, I guess!
