The clues lead to the name of a person. From there you should be able to tell us what he/she is most well known for. Their name is spelled differently, but the highlighted words are a good phonetic resemblance.

Here’s another clue:

Yes. Got it. Good Rebus! Thanks for the clue and thanks to JimInOz for the spelling tip.

Fibber McGee

Dirty Dingus Magee was a movie starring Frank Sinatra in the title role.

Well done @TasMike ! Correct!

Ah yes! "Jørn", not "Juan".

😉

Let's see if @Canuck can solve his first Aussie themed RP?

I am always happy to be told that a rebus has an Australian theme. I don’t even try! I got nothin’ against anyone from Australia, understand! But I’m just not up on the typical topics, particularly where notable individuals from there are involved. I’ll have to learn how to hunt down clues on Google.

Jòrn Utzon, architect of the Sydney Opera House?

Jòrn (yawn)
Utz (huts, cabanas)
On (sun)

A tad on the vague side, this rebus! But then, I guess many of them are!

Now, just HOW is it that I didn’t know that one without the extra clue? Without that extra clue, would ANYONE have got it?

On the topic of obscure rebus puzzles, try this one. Name the individual, what his profession was, and show several examples of his work. The answer is NOT the individual in the clues.

Richard Buckminster Fuller.

Designer, Author, Inventor etc etc.

His architecture was famous for geodesic domes, he came up with a weird Dymaxion car and wrote many books.

Here’s another. Name the place, and describe it, and name some of the luminaries associated with it.

Mocambo (bit easy @Canuck , your standard is dropping)

According to Google it could be a tree, but based on the question it's most likely to be the nightclub in West Hollywood frequented by Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, Errol Flynn, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Henry Fonda, Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Bob Hope, James Cagney, Sophia Loren, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, Grace Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Howard Hughes, Kay Francis, Marlene Dietrich, Theda Bara, Tyrone Power, Gene Tierney, Jayne Mansfield, John Wayne, Ben Blue, Ann Sothern, and Louis B. Mayer. Myrna Loy and Arthur Hornblow, Jr. celebrated their divorce there.

With thanks to Wikipedia.

I've had Marty Robbins for a while, but I'm yet to fit the cat in.

I was unsure about adding the cat. I meant it to be a "hiss" as in RobbinS but it also acted unintentionally as a red herring. Maybe slightly underdo rather than overdo the images.

Anyway, excellent sleuthing! Hat off to you, sir!

Too obvious for me! I got hung up trying to find a song title to fit to the cat and neglected to see what was staring me in the face... and Marty Robbins recorded over 500 songs.😲
