Have to admit I scratched my head and dismissed that solution as I'd never come across it! That doesn't mean it doesn't exist though 😉 Interested to know its origins.

Ok, enough with politics...this is a person...that...come to think of it, had some involvement with politics! (further hint: 'sounds similar' to one of the clues...not exact, forgive me, I've had a stiff Scotch or two)

Yeah, the last two you solved were spot on U.S. politics...the one you're trying to solve is a person...but they did have a relationship to U.S. politics...in a way. 😉
