To everyone that helped I'd like to thank you for the advice given to me on here. I won't be replying to PMs with what I'm hoping to sell as it was never my plan to circumvent the rules this forum has in place to look after its users, hence the rfi here.
For those who offered nothing more than "he might be a scammer", without offering the advice that I had asked for, you may want to look into how you approach new members to an inclusive forum such as this. From 25 replies I got one solid piece of advice which was that using eBay would be fine.

I believe that it's more about the overall security and sentiment of the forum members here. No one likes to be scammed, and no one wants to be the scammer. Seasoned collectors have plenty of horror stories to share. So you have members like that being skeptical about you, especially as they may well have seen such a situation before, had a horrible experience and don't want it to happen again to themselves, as well as to protect others.

The limit is a general requirement. If you wish to sell something, provided you have feedback on other forums/the bay and can be vouched for, admins can be lenient and allow you to post on there. Let's be honest, 200 posts that are 'constructive' can be hard to do if you're just rushing for sales. There are plenty of other websites that don't have such a post restriction; whether the reputation of these is good or not depends. Remember, though, that sales on this forum are an optional feature. It is more about discussion - and discussion will generate those posts and experience which the site deems satisfactory to make a sale's thread.

As for me, I'd say eBay is quite easy to set up and get going to sell. They suggest templates, prices and auction types once they know what you're selling, and it is now mainly free (apart from additional extras and a ~3% take of your final sale price sans postage.) My 100% feedback is about 1 sale (which was a watch, incidentally) and the rest purchases. Would that have been enough for the admins to consider letting me sell my wares before I hit the 200 post mark here? I'm not sure, since I never posed the question.

I feel your pain as I'm in the same predicament....200 posts seems a bit stringent but that's not up for debate. However, here are some other sites that might be helpful to you:

Rolex Forum (not restricted to Rolexes)- need to pay annual fee
Chronocentric
Watchnet
And if desperate, Craigslist!!

Best of luck to you, and let us know your decision.

I would say it is not ok to sell on eBay if I am being honest.

3% eBay fee followed by a 3% PayPal fee coupled with a system that almost always favors the buyer no matter circumstances makes for a bad deal in my opinion.

If the watches you have are omegas, and you do not NEED to sell them right now. Then the best advice is to stick around here. Post constructive comments. Share pictures of what you have so we can all enjoy them. And in a month or two when you are over 200 posts offer them up so people who know and love omegas have a chance at them before they are sent to unloving homes. (By comparison of course, I'm sure eBay ppl are great ppl)

Also, I don't think there is anything wrong with replying to pm's if you have good intentions, we are all big boys here, if someone is interested and it gets kept off of the marketplace then what's the harm? If it is still an issue then send your cell phone or WhatsApp number and talk offline. With that being said, check your inbox 😉

I guess I am coming from the other side of the spectrum. I've been selling a handful of items on eBay and the fees+feedback extortion are starting to make me wary. Being a collector myself, I'd rather sell honest pieces to people who know what to look for so eventually I'll likely migrate my sales to this forum (guess I'll have to hit the post-count rule).

But in the meantime, in addition to those forums above, I'd even recommend the LetGo app. I've purchased several pieces (an original owner Megaquartz!) and sold a few on the app.

One of the great things about this forum is that scam radar is up and turned to 11. Unfortunately you kinda fit the profile with the post. Don't take it personally. It makes this a safe place to exchange info and buy and sell. You hung in there. PS the forum is titled Omega Forums but here are forums here for many brands. Many folks here are omnivorous.

That is a great point, my earlier post was probably misleading. I assumed that since he ended up at OF he's probably talking omega and that there isn't a better place to sell one.

200 posts does seem high to be honest. I signed up over a year ago and still haven't hit the mark.
