You'd have to go with an All Guard if you want the 1953 version of this style. Conquest didn't come about until 1955-ish because of some problem with the name. I don't know the details but maybe @Tony C., @gatorcpa or @Bill Sohne might. It's still a 900x case (9006 mostly) with the same crown and 19AS caliber inside.

Thank you Dennis, this is good information. I imagine it's going to be a long search, but that's what makes this fun. 馃榾

Also, I imagined 1953 may throw a wrench in the works and figured there will be plenty of research necessary to come up with the ideal watch candidates.

That
If I were betting, I'd wager that should be a 900x (x = 5 or 6 most likely) with a caliber 19AS from 1956 - 1958.

That sounds correct, Dennis. I seem to recall 9006, but I am away from home, so am unable to verify.

Going back that far, you might want to also keep an eye out for a "pre-All Guard" Automatic, such as this one that I own.

I don't think that the All Guard goes back to 1953. The earliest listing on Vintage Watch Resources is 1956. You'd need to have a serial number around 9.2M to 9.3M to go back that far. The smallest serial on an All-Guard I've seen is in the 9.8M range.

Ref. 9006 is correct for the All Guard.

The Silver Arrow seems to go all the way back to 1953.

Hope this helps,

Question for all of you Longines experts....where can I get more information regarding the case sizes that were produced for vintage Longines?

The following site is very helpful, but doesn't include that detail (at least that I've seen).

http://www.vintagewatchresources.com

I know this is a general question. I can phrase it differently...can anyone help me identify which models / years were made with case sizes of 38mm or greater (I generally prefer a slightly larger case size)? I realize that may not be any easier to answer. I'm happy to do the research, just hoping there are some places I can go where some of this information is already put together instead of researching them one by one.

Thanks,
Michael

1. Sometimes "Waterproof" is only wishful thinking.

2. Don't let Kyle see these, it'll drive him crazy! 馃お
