Very nice Nick!👍

Ain't it? I'd consider selling my 18k pink gold example for one that nice.

I'm sure that there are at least a few others in existence, but I have never seen another PG Flagship Chronometre. I sourced this one from Japan several years ago.

This book is a passbook (Motbok) which was introduced in Sweden in the early 1900's to prevent alcohol damage. Each adult was able to buy a maximum of 2 liters of spirits per month. This book was abolished in autumn 1955, to everyone's delight.
This book belonged to my father.

Thanks for sharing. Just enjoying a pint as I type this (not of spirits 😀).
Did your father regularly max out his limit?
I suppose you would if there was a limit 😀)).

He did that usually. I can see in the book that was stamped, 50cl 1cl. It was a mortal sin not to collect their monthly ration. Many abstainers lent their books to the thirsty people. It was a huge bureaucracy when a bottle was purchased at the store.

Attaching a link from1976. A person writes about his experiences about the book.
You can translate it in Google.

Reviving this thread with a recent addition, Longines definitely made some of the classiest designs back in the 60s.

Anyone else bought a vintage Longines recently?

It's been a long dry spell for me.... two months?

I consider this one my 'forgotten workhorse': while the dial is nicely aged, the case (14K) must have had some irresponsible handling. It has an engraving on the back, stating '1950' as you can tell, so it would place the watch round that time.
Have no other information though. although I know what the 'KPM' stand for: the Dutch Royal Package Corporation, mainly active in the Indonesian area, with it's HQ in Batavia (Jakarta), if I am right on that.

Other things on the watch: I am blind. Anyone a guess??

Sorry for the average quality pics.
