Also not an Omega: 1959 Rolex Submariner 5512 with silver depth text and eagle beak crown guards (admittedly somewhat polished 🙁) that was given to me by an old family friend. Before and after pics - took some work to get it back to spec but now she's a beaut!

Can anyone spot the diamond(s) in the rough ?

The lot cost under 50 euros.
Quite amazing. That very tiny flieger style watch to the right on a yellowing strap also looks interesting. What is it?

Not my best find but a recent one. I look at this one as more of a blessing than a find Omega 30t2rg in original condition except for the crown. Still not wearing the correct crown however I will take care of the minor issue Here she is fresh out of the watchmakers shop.

It's a small Oris calendar. Quite neat looking, but it's really small and in pretty rough condition.

My mother found this and gave it to me. Does that count?

Where did she find it from? I will forward it to my mom.

Snap. This one was $30 in a shop in Chicken St in Kabul in the 90s. I've never managed to get it to tell the time accurately.

My first meaningful vintage purchase.
Negotiated at a pretty good price without knowing it was a rare stainless steel variant of the WWII military pilot watch I sought.
I jumped on it and took a chance "despite" it being marked "Acier Staybrite" inside instead of the more usual marks. 😜

On a path used for running and walking. Head only - the loser must have had it in their pocket and it fell out.

This was back in the middle 1970's when she found it but if it motivates your Mom to get out and exercise on a regular basis today I'd say go for it...

Wow, what are the odds... I thought it looked like my long-lost Speedie !!

I lost it whilst running down a path, can't remember where but I recall passing ahsposo's mother heading in the opposite direction. It must be almost 40 years ago, so I had pretty much given up on ever getting it back. Should I let you have a forwarding address so you can return it ?

Oh that's great 😀

I was born in 1974 so I could only have been one or two years old at the time. Too young to remember where it happened so I thought it was gone forever 😉

Too bad you couldn't read. You were too young. This explains how you missed the "Found Watch" notices my mother posted.

I've had a handful of amazing finds, including a 1966 Breitling Navitimer 806 picked up for £95 but this has to be the best vintage find I got for £30 from an antiques market in Devon, UK

I'd have to say the two most recent finds are tied for the best. Both original owner. One quite rare. The other impossibly rarer. First pics are the ones I received from the owners, second is once I had them in my possession.

First up is the Nina Rindt that I wrote about on Watch Patina (https://watchpatina.com/2016/06/02/my-grail-watch-finds-its-way-home/).

Second is a Heuer Carrera 2447NT - one of four known examples in the world. If you're curious about it, I wrote a more extensive post here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-sneak-peek-of-my-heuer-carrera-2447nt.41150/

I was very fortunate to find two Zenith Cover Girls within the span of 6 months of each other. Just finding first one took quite a few years. I guess when it rains it pours.
.

Oh yes and the mint A3817 was a dream catch too!
