OP asked for best Omega vintage buy, so here is my.
If you like story with a watch here it is:
In januar 2016 I was at home sick with fever and felling like a sh*t for whole week. Afther I woke afther 13hours of sleep I want to look our local "ebay" to see what is new. First add that I saw was Omega and had one very bad picture. But on picture I could clearly see step-dial and price was great at 1700eur. I called the guy and he is like 150km from me. He got a watch from first owner wife for free.......
He said he has some other that called and that he do not know what to do now. I asked if some1 already said magic words "I will take it" and he replied no. I told him I will buy watch no question asked, but he need to confirm becouse I do not want to drive sick and shi*ty as I was that day/week. He said OK, but he will not give it for less than that amount. I knew its worth more so there was no intention to "break" his price.
When I came to look and buy watch, there was another surprise that I did not see on picture he put in add. I checked the bezel and.......
😁
And afther 3 hours I was home with this baby:
But for best vintage piece I got and also piece that start my obssesion with vintage watches was this chunky baby you can see on picture down. I got it for 150eur from my fathers uncle 2 years ago.
He was one of the wholesaler in Yugoslavia in 50s-70s for Roamer, certina and longines. This watch was in showcase and its virtualy intact. There are some markings from handling, but can be called almost NOS. It still has half of sticker in the back. It was without bracellet, I add it later.
My fathers uncle also gave me some other watches, but are not so imporatant as this piece. I hope I will have chance for more buys from him in future. He has some very very nice pieces, but he is 90year old man and his mind is going away....sadly.
