Here’s mine. JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon. No better dress watch under 10k in my humble opinion.
It’s undoubtedly me, but I still have a problem with the idea of spending more than £1k on a watch - any watch.
No doubt there are many people who’d regard £1k as an unnecessary extravagance - although probably not on OF 😉.

If you can wear a 33mm, and willing to buy used, you can get a white gold Patek under 12k:

Or a yellow gold one

But really if you want a dress watch then a rose gold jumbo (38mm) is hard to beat for the price

Hi All

I’m thinking about adding a dress watch to complete (yeah right) this collection

Seamaster 300m grey dial
Speedmaster Professional sapphire sandwich
Rolex submariner no date
Breitling Super Ocean heritage II 42 (best looking of the lot!)

any suggestions? I quite like the look of the Breguet Classique.

thanks in advance

One of the best values for a dress watch is Grand Seiko’s SBGW231 if you can find one that is. I own a Japan-sourced domestic market model which I purchased through Chrono 24. The dial and polished finishes are top notch and in a league of their own. It’s 37 mm with a self-winding mechanical movement with close to 70 hours of power reserve and a leather strap. I paid $4k for this watch brand new with shipping and retail taxes. Market value is close to $5k right now. Highly recommended.

I own the SBGW231 and the pictures don’t do justice to the beauty and finesse of this piece when worn. Forgot to mention that you can see the movement thru the caseback.

Nice watch but isn’t it more sporty rather than dressy?

Although with our lockdown I haven’t got out much recently so I may well be both out of touch and out of date 😉

I've always considered it my dress watch. I am curious what other members think.

A beauty I can’t afford.

orr, you might consider a vintage quartz.
these two are my 1st and only quartz watches i bought as early as 1984. tv commercials of these two during the fame tennis grandslam era of connor, mcenroe, andre agazzi and pete sampras were highly prominent on the small screen then. the rado florence was introduced as the 1st full sapphire glass (remember the sunlight reflection of the watch to a lady spectator from a tv commercial?), and then enter pete sampras endorsing the movado edgeless sapphire watch.

You can’t go wrong with a vintage Constellation on an alligator strap. Here’s mine:

Depending on your budget and how often you will use them. If the answer is rare, I would look at cheaper options or vintage.

Both under 10k (usd)
The orbis one comes with a bonus item, def worth it!
