Okay, so it's a hard no from senior members, much-appreciated love, and care in everyone's comment.
I'm the only non-senior commenting here. The irony is, as well as the reason why I replied here in the first place, that you helped me when I had a false positive with an assumed redial(the watch was not sold here). Imagine what would have happened if those images were not in public.
Plus, there's always an amount of exposure when selling something, and I see no problem with that since when I sell something I stand for it.
P.S: I only sold locally and don't plan on selling something here anytime soon.
Edit: Assumed Redial, don't want people getting the wrong meaning

I agree with all... think about it from the buyer's point of view. No pics, they'll more than likely just move on.
I especially hate this on Craigslist (not watch buying). You see some generic for sale ad, then zero pics. I always assume it's either fake or a scam or there's things they want to hide on the product.

I am just trying to find a balance between sharing data and privacy. After all its called Private Watch Sales.

I think you are taking the word "private" out of context here. This doesn't mean the sales are private (hidden), but that the sellers are not dealers.

I for one would be completely against the change you suggest.

You are misinterpreting the meaning of the word private.

What does having pictures of a watch on a forum have to do with your privacy? Strip the image metadata if you're that worried.

There is much to be learned about watches everywhere in this place.

Perhaps I am overlooking something that may be obvious to others, but I don't see a reason why one would be concerned about photos of one's watches remaining open to view for years into the future? I do appreciate that one may wish to suppress the appearance of a full serial number and that is easy enough to address,.

When it comes to buying and selling watches, even the more experienced among us may overlook something that can be caught by others. If there is something "wrong" with a watch listing, it is reassuring to know that an experienced observer may - and likely will - send a PM to the seller suggesting an adjustment in the listing.

What an oddly out of place request.

The idea came from private sales that are offered by auction houses. Invitation only sale.

Okay, so it's 5 negatives all under archive prospective. Do any actual buyers or sellers want to pitch in?
Sure. It is a really bad idea and I am dead against it. It opens up the door to shady dealings, fakes, misdescription and switch and bait. You dont like the way we do it here, there are other places to look, but funnily enough I can't think of too many that allow the kind of sales you suggest.

Did you hear of this concept invitation-only sale offered by auction houses? also called a private sale.

Over 80% would have posted a few WRUW posts in their day. I think your in the 2% more like it.

if 80% didn’t post pictures of watches ever like you this place would not have many members. We run on pictures here.

Is that not the sale of items that failed to make reserve in a public auction?

Part of the protection you have in a forum like this is the oversight by moderators and other contributors who can spot when something is not right, the photos give much of that information. I personally would run a mile from the sort of scenario you are proposing since that safety net would be removed and you would have something like on Chronocentric which these days is the wild west of fakes and scams. No thanks.

Here is a cheese sandwich that I’m looking to sell.

I’m looking for OIRO £50,000,000.

Pictures upon written request, in blood.

I have and I think speak for the rest of the moderators in saying that we simply have no interest in it.
