(Lucky??) Coincidence on a 167.005 from "Private Watch Sales"

Hi,

bought today nearly the same watch as being offered on OF right now at Private Sales, same year 1962, same reference, not so common one with most other pie pans have different indicies

(of course "mine" doesn't have a BOR Bracelet 🙁)

Pictures are crappy but I hope I will turn out to be a good one.

Especially the bottom lugs on this one could be quite sharp and unpolished hopefully.






Could have issues with the dial also 🙁,

Paid 530€, I will post pictures as soon as possible

Really hope it will turn out to be good one...

Very nice. BOR bracelets are pretty easy to find if you want one.

Hi,

meanwhile I had incoming a nice 1503 BOR barcelet with 70 endlinks and attachted it...

Next step is to change the crystal.

Its not original and when I removed it I realized it has no tension ring and is damaged at the bottom (not visiable here)

This is the incoming replacement crystal, I hope I figured out the right one



It is the first time I carry out that kind of work and I hope I will succeed.

Silly question but I think this is an appropiate tool to do so?



I will also try VERY carefully to clean the dial from dust or dirt by using a special brush and air

Be very careful. I once ruined a watch because I used to much pressure. I pushed the movement loose and the watch was a goner. I never used that tool again. I think Archer said that you can not use this tool for every plexi.

That's not the correct tool. Don't try it. You need a crystal press. Better still a watchmaker as you need to remove the movement. Quick note as I'm busy but don't try that tool. Sure someone, probably Al, will explain.

Crystal is removed by taking the movement out of the case, and pushing the crystal out from the inside. New crystal is installed using a proper press with the correct style of die installed. The tool shown is not used for tension ring crystals.
