Omega’s Extract Of The Archives - How It Works

The current form for requesting an archive includes the serial number and the case number. I've looked in many different places and searched but I can't figure out how to obtain my watch's case number.

Any advice?

Is it important?

Leave out the case number, list ONLY the serial number. That’s the only number they need to produce and extract for you. Have done this for all my watches.

Very interesting. I was told to list my case number, Case Ref., otherwise my request may be returned to me for insuficient data. Now only "time" will tell.

There is no reason to omit the info...its not like the Omega Museum is going to use your provided info to provide false information.
Either they have the records or they dont...they aren't going to create a fraudulent document.

Movement serial only, they are not checking case numbers, and if they would and your serial would not match the case number then you might just get a message stating there is no reference information available for you watch. I rather have a EoA stating a wrong movement than no info at all.

I only include movement number in my extract requests and have always got an extract. I like to do this so I get confirmation that the moment left the factory in that reference case. Just sent another request for my latest 14777 👍

This suggests the Omega Museum would add a number you supply to their extract if it doesn't exist in their records. I would like to believe that this would never happen...as you can imagine, if it is happening the entire process would be suspect.

Personally my .02. If you feel like this is necessary, then why bother ordering one? The entire document is worthless if your theory is correct.

You got this wrong. He includes only the Movement Number, no Reference. This works if there is a Record for the Serial provided.

I know exactly what he said. I don’t think you grasp what I am saying.

Provide a serial ONLY. Record of that Serial exists. You get an Extract with the Reference the movement was delivered with.
Provide a serial and a not matching Watch Reference. You get nothing.

Whatever you refer to when you say "Number". They don't add a serial to a Reference. If there is no match of Reference&Serial, no Extract.

You still aren't following...have you read the entire thread?

Omega requests a case number, serial number and caliber:

It has been suggested by several people in this thread that they only supply the serial number because they dont want Omega to use the case number they supplied on the request form on the final extract...or as the poster I replied to said:
"so I get confirmation that the moment left the factory in that reference case.".

This comment implies that Omega would insert the case number supplied by the watch owner on the final Extract of the Archives rather than the case number found in the archives.

What I am saying is that IF Omega is doing this, the entire process is a fraud.

Could someone please buy Raynald a nice Montblanc Fountain pen. BBB Nib should appropriate. If this is not possible for competitive reasons, Caran d'Ache could be a good selction. They are even from Biel 😉

@mr_yossarian What @CajunTiger is saying that you don‘t get an extract if your serial and case ref don’t match on the request. If you only provide the serial you‘ll get the ref it was delivered in on the extract, so you at least know you have a franken.
