I started with omega. Ran with a
Speedie reduced for several years. Turned 40 and bought a sm300 in titanium . Got a great price on that watch which remains my main to go watch. Recently i purchased a Rolex OP 39 mainly because I loved it's dial!! I a greater sentimental attraction to omega as a brand but quite appreciate the Rolex quality. 5c4ace864b063352898cfa11e17a81b7.jpg

I once heard a story.........A man and his acquaintance were walking down the street. They passed a watch store and saw two beautiful watches in the window. The man asked his friend, which is more beautiful? And began to expound his own preference. Soon more passers-by joined the discussion, and before long an entire crowd was engaged in spirited debate.
After many hours without resolution, the crowd turned once more to the window to discuss the finer points of comparison. They found both watches were missing, along with the man's original companion. He was long gone, a watch on each arm, and a smile on his face.

That's funny. I like wearing my AT 2500, because my SubDate 16610 is bigger/thicker, and my wrists are about 7", so pretty average. I don't really like the size of any current Omega Diver, outside of the regular old 300M. The more conservative Rolex sport watch sizes is what makes them so popular to some.

I guess the only Rolex I would buy rather than a vintage Speedmaster is a black 6263. Maybe one day...

I am lucky to own both ... Vintage 1980 Mdl 1680 Sub and vintage 1969 SM Pro. I love both of these beauties.

I've both that I consider the most iconic representation of each brand. A Rolex Explorer 1 and a Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch.... both are stunning pieces. No comparison indeed yet fantastic evergreen watches.

Beautiful collection you've got there. To me personally, that YM platinum dial triple red (mod!) takes the cake. Mine's only double red [emoji20]

I'm now hesitating between the Speedy Moonphase with sunray blue dial and the new Sea-Dweller Red. I'll know when I see them in the metal.

Nice collection, I enjoy best of both worlds, love both Rolex and Omega, makes life quite colorful to say the least ;-)
Wow. Just.... Wow. That looks like my idea of the ideal beginning of a collection. Is that Pepsi on the right the new white gold model? I just picked up Pepsi GMT2 myself and I'm still enthralled with it.

My story has some parallels to the OP's.

Always wanted the Rolex GMT2 Pepsi. But it was (I thought) a little too small on my wrist. Ended up with Omega Seamasters and wore them daily for over a decade. Recently I got my dream Rolex in a trade and I love it. Makes me smile every time I check the time. But lo, I've been bitten hard by the Speedmaster bug. I'm obsessing over getting a Speedy. So it looks like I'm going:

Omega --> Rolex --> Omega

I'll probably trade off between a Speedmaster and the Rolex GMT2. Honestly, when I've coveted this watch since 1980 I don't think I will ever put it down completely. But Speedmasters have the storied history with our Space Program and they're just freakin' gorgeous.

Own several Omega's including an 45.5 SMPO Chronograph. Thought I wanted a Sub until I saw a coworker wearing a 16800 and yeah it looked smaller than I expected. I also held it and it didn't quite feel as "substantial" as I thought it might. My SMPO always puts a smile on my face. Probably will add a 42mm version for everyday wear sooner rather than later.

I started with a TT Sub and recently jumped to the Omega. Sadly, I can't pick between the two brands and want more of each! Worse problems to have I suppose

I started with Omega.....then reluctantly went to Rolex....now I can't get enough of either. They are both winners.
