Own several Omega's including an 45.5 SMPO Chronograph. Thought I wanted a Sub until I saw a coworker wearing a 16800 and yeah it looked smaller than I expected. I also held it and it didn't quite feel as "substantial" as I thought it might. My SMPO always puts a smile on my face. Probably will add a 42mm version for everyday wear sooner rather than later.
The new 45.5mm Seamaster are like wearing a battleship on your wrist! I think they're awesome. The Deep Black 600m PO Chrono in 45.5mm is really doing it for me.

TAG Heuer is the brand that started it all for me and will always be the brand closest to me, especially the Heuer brand. However, at the end of the day, I love whatever is currently on my wrist, be it TAG, Rolex or Omega.

My Rolex and Omegas

The three icons of the watch world I can not live without.

Both great brands. I still maintain the 2500 PO is one of the best looking diver watches of all time to my taste. Even the xl is amazing.

That said i actually got more attention from my omegas than my rolexes. omega stands out more visually. Larger sizes, the non reflective crystal woth glossy dials, the finishes... theyre just hard to miss, specially the supersized 8500 cal. The rolex to me ( explorer, 14060 etc,) actually are more modest.

I still probably will get another 2500 XL orange numerals as i miss it as a workhorse diver.

My AT is still one of my favorites.

How can you say you are "all in" with only 8 pieces. Just kidding. Nice collection.

I guess I saved myself some money because I would never buy a Rolex.

@Malik713

I have since updated my collection. Of those 8, I only sold the 176.005, as it had too many service parts.

I added a CK2998, a Straight Writing, an X-33 and a SM300ti Master Coaxial.

I have wavered back and forth between the two brands. I really think Rolex are ploughing off in the wrong direction with the six digit ceramic references. My favourite watches of all time remain vintage Rolexes - the 5513 or 1680 Sub, and I have a lot of time for the 16710 GMT or the 14060 Sub. Beyond these, I would take a modern or vintage Omega over a modern Rolex anytime.

Had some Rolex in the past but I got an nickel allergy and had to sell all 6-digits Rolex because the bracelets are made of 904L steel and this contains more nickel than the usual 916L.

Anyhow, I went more towards Omega and never regretted this decision. I've got a nice collection of modern Omegas in between and have plans to buy one ore two vintages in the future. So I'm all in with Omega and more than happy with this decision.

Had a Kermit Submariner for the past 8 years, but it is the only rolex I've ever had. As of today, I only own 1 and a half Omegas (Connie bought for the lady 😀 ), but I have bought/sold 4 more...
I'm waiting for the right moment to pounce on a 1675.
Even though Omega probably is my favorite brand, I usually have 8 different brands in my 8-watch collection: I like diversity 😉

An update to my previous post!
I like both brands and have had many of both. After have a few non-ceramic Date Submariners, a few years ago, I replaced my matte dial Sub 16800 with a Seamaster 300 2254.50 which I loved for about 2 years. Then I realized that although the Seamaster is a far superior piece in most respects on paper, somehow, the Sub just a certain romance to it and it was time to switch back. Being a guy that keeps his collection VERY small, I sold the Seamaster and another and am awaiting my 4th Submariner....This time it's a pre-ceramic no-date and I hope this one is for good!
I'm also awaiting the arrival of my 2017 Railmaster LE to complete the pair collection. It'll be weird not having a date function....at all!

The Sub is synonymous with Rolex. It's positively iconic -- and beautiful. The only reason I never got a Submariner is that I have been enthralled with the GMT2 "Pepsi" since about 1980. I don't think there are many people with multiple Rolexes that don't have at lease one Submariner in their collection.

I have three Omegas (two modern - SM300 MC and SM 300M Diver - and one vintage Constellation), as well as a modern Submariner. I have never once received any comments on the Rolex, either positive or negative. My Omegas, however, are a different story; they attract attention and compliments on a regular basis. I suppose it may be because the design of the Submariner is so widely imitated that it's tough to tell from a distance whether it's a Rolex or a Steinhart or whatever else it may be. The Omega designs, on the other hand, are a bit more distinctive.

Oddly, it makes me a bit more confident in anonymity when I'm wearing the Sub.

Definitely, some one was wearing something that looked like a sub in the gym the other week, turned out to be an invicta homage. it is shocking that some people do wear their rolex in the gym actually during their workout. guess the lockers arent the safest
