Yes, I've been wanting to get a Barbour coat one of these days.

And excellent speedmaster shots OP.

Another Barbour fan! I just rewaxed mine for the first time last week, what a bloody awful job!

Thanx guys
I'm also a Barbour fan, and yes, DIY re-wax is horrible to do but what and enjoyment when you wear it afterwards in the rain. 😀

I'm actually quite impressed how well it came out for a first attempt, I actually did 2 jackets, one was letting in water after only a year, the other was a refresh, both keeping the rain out nicely now though!

Well if you use it quite often in the rain, you should do two re-waxes a year. My method which limits the mess to a minimum is to use a sponge for melted wax and hairdryer. That way you can really speed up the proces and basically loose only 45 minutes per jacket if you are thorough

Yeah, exactly what I did, the daily one only gets worn to work and back in occasional showers, the other one is actually a bit small, so I'm hoping to slim down enough to fit in it!

I had a real struggle keeping the wax melted though - the hairdryer is a great idea to get a nice consistent coating and even out any over-saturated parts.

Whilst I'm a big fan of Barbour, and have a bunch of their stuff (even slippers) I never really put it through its paces in the great outdoors - hoping one rewax a year, or when I notice it letting in water will suffice.

A lot of talk about Speedy pro here, but I just wanted to give my take.

Now I've had a few watches over the years, but this one has a very special sentimental meaning to me. I've had cheaper watches, more expensive watches, more special ones, but the Speedy Pro will always be my favorite and every time I look at the dial it will remind me of the good times (this is the sentimental part).

And it's the only watch I have that I don't really care what the value will be in the next years, as long as I have a roof on top of my head and my health, this one stays put. People call it the ultimate classic, and they are right. For more than 50 years the design hasn't changed one bit and it's one of those strap whores that goes well with everything. Well enough about it, here are some shots/wristshots, hope you like them.

BTW, seeing Speedy in EVA is cool and all, but have you seen one dropping through a wormhole? Inception inspired shot (no photoshop, free style light painting here!)

This is what the Speedy would see in the blackness of Space near the Black Hole Event Horizon where no light is visible around you.

It turns out that Speedies near an Event Horizon start to tick....
