Certainly the uncle Seiko flat link that I have owned and handled does not compare in quality or feel or even look to the Apollo 11 50th flat link. But yeah, if I didn't own both, I don't think I would really have a complaint about the uncle Seiko bracelet. It's perfectly acceptable, it's just not luxurious.

I don't think it's fair to call it garbage, but I do think it's fair to point out that it is not OEM quality.

Hi forum members, I really love the new release of the FOIS, especially with the on-the-fly microadjust clasp on the flat link bracelet. I understand the bracelet is 19mm and the 1861 Speedy Pro is 20mm. If I were to use the Forstner endlinks and 1.8mm thick springbars, would it have a proper fit the the 1861 Speedy? Many thanks in advance!

Also @fairfax the '57 flat link will need forstner or Uncle Seiko end links to fit the 1861 case. The A11 50th flat link fits as well, but needs slight modification to the OEM end links or forstner/US links.

Pimping a 1861 with a flat link bracelet is crass in my opinion. Ohh his got a never mind it’s just a bracelet. Keep the flat links on the watches they came or come with.
$7-800 is going to my next watch and not a bracelet.

Also $7-800 is 7 or 8 magic straps that would make a speedy look better anyway. 🖐️🎤

I can't say I understand. flat link bracelets were pretty common on speedmasters. Is there some major difference in the 1861 case that makes them look not as good versus an 861 that would have had one? Or an older 321- moon or pre-moon?

I didn't put a flat link on my 1863 to make anyone think it was an Apollo 11. The dial is very, very clearly a modern 1863 luminova dial. It's never even occurred to me that somebody would think I was trying to make my watch look like anything other than a Speedmaster on a flat link?

I agree, I don't see how putting a different style bracelet, or strap, on a watch is somehow crass, or fraudulent. That makes no sense.

You're not going to get an honest answer from the person you're asking that to. The answer you'll get from them is you have to pay the full price to Omega for OEM because reasons.
If you want to buy them - have at it. They are $150. You get what you pay for…

I will. I am. Treating myself to the flat link for Christmas.

I don't feel the requirement to be some of kind of purer than pure Omega fanboi with my watch.

I'm a fan of both Uncle Seiko and Forstner and purchased both flat link bracelets in the early days of them coming out. They're nice for the price, but I can't say they ever really gave me a feeling of satisfaction due to finishing, how the links moved with each other, etc.

In the end I sucked it up and ordered the OEM Apollo 50th flat link bracelet which truly is top notch!! The US one was sold with a 145.012-69 I had and the all brushed Forstner now sits in its box waiting to be posted on the FS pages.

Definitely a case of "you get what you pay for" and for the same reason I've now committed to an Omega mesh bracelet for the same reasons.

It does not those end links to fit the 1861 case.

It does not need those endlinks to fit the case, it does need those in links to  fit the case properly without overhang.
