Hi forum members, I really love the new release of the FOIS, especially with the on-the-fly microadjust clasp on the flat link bracelet. I understand the bracelet is 19mm and the 1861 Speedy Pro is 20mm. If I were to use the Forstner endlinks and 1.8mm thick springbars, would it have a proper fit the the 1861 Speedy? Many thanks in advance!

No. It won’t work. If you want a flat link look on a standard Speedy - get the flat link off the 57 models. It fits.

Thanks for the quick response. For the 57 flat link is there any possibility for on the fly adjustment of the clasp?

It has the adjustment. Not cheap. $800 if I remember correctly.

By the time you've spent that, the lure of OEM probably starts to wane a little when compared to Uncle Seiko and Forstner

Uncle Seiko and Forstner are garbage compared to OEM. Gotta pay to play.

Garbage?

Or good enough for most people but obviously not as good as a product with 3 or 4 times the retail price.

To each his own. I’d just use the OEM bracelet that came on the watch before I’d put those on.

Why do you say it won't work?

Its highly possible that it would fit using Forstner/Uncle Seiko end links. You'll need someone to measure the middle link of the OEM bracelet to see if it will fit inside the aftermarket endlinks.

Ever looked closely at a recent genuine 1171 bracelet? Now those are junk. Don’t be so quick to dismiss the US and Forstner offerings, they are not garbage.

I own the modern 1171 bracelet and OEM flatlink bracelet for the 321. Both are far superior to the Forstner and Uncle Seiko bracelets (which i both own).

In the case of the 1171, as do I and I disagree 100%.

What makes the Forstner and Uncle Seiko flat link bracelets garbage?

You're not going to get an honest answer from the person you're asking that to. The answer you'll get from them is you have to pay the full price to Omega for OEM because reasons.

Geez, you guys are all Omega owners...

Do we really have to explain why an aftermarket bracelet that cost 100USD is comparable to OEM Omega bracelets?

That's like saying the quality on a cheapo microbrand watch is just as good as one of your Omega's.

No one is arguing a Forstner or Uncle Straps bracelet is just as good as a $800 Omega bracelet. A member stated Forstner and U.S. bracelets are "garbage." That's his opinion but I disagree completely. They are a good alternative. And they are worth the money you pay for them (at 1/4 or 1/5 the cost of the OEM versions).

I own a Forstner flat link and an OEM Apollo 11 50th Anniversary bracelet. I bought the Forstner first. But now having both, I wish I had saved my money and skipped the OEM bracelet. It's not worth the upcharge.

Fair enough mate. I seem to be the opposite. I bought both Forstner and Uncle Seiko flatlinks and wished I had saved my money and bought the OEM Ed White flatlink instead.
