Congrats Dennis!! I suppose now that your search has gained results you won't be interested, if and when mine becomes available for a new home.๐Ÿ˜

Can't tell you why they did it, but it is correct. Both my old one and this one are identical.

Nice catch Dennis! ๐Ÿ‘ Are these two watches โ†‘ the same identical model/reference? Not sure if the difference in the position/font of "SWISS MADE" is an optical illusion or one of them is a redial ๐Ÿ˜•

I think Steve called dibs before he even got it. ๐Ÿ˜œ

I think Daniel / CanberryOmega is calling dibs on MKelley's 2500 since I have mine now.

Usually I'd just pester the hell out of you until you relented, but in this singular case I really wanted another 2500 bad. Didn't want to wait, and this listing popped up at an opportune moment (just a litte earlier than I was ready for but swingable). If I remember the condition yours is in, you should be able to sell it for a little more than what I bought this for.

I think it's the seller's pictures that make the ink look fatter than the one I traded to Desmond.

Dennis got the better deal. I don't believe gold dropped off that much since I got mine @ $2k + less than 6 months ago.

Head to head - both pictures shot by me with the same desk lamp for lighting.

I'm still honing the photo skills. I'll have to go back and redo mine.

Now, is the "E" on "MADE" closer to the five hour marker on the bottom watch as compared to the the watch on the top photo? ๐Ÿ˜• or my eyesight is going down the hill more rapidly than what I want to admit?

No, you're not crazy - the font is slightly larger on the second photo. No big deal as it's correct and Omega did use several different companies for their dials.

agh! this was the detail I was missing! ๐Ÿ‘ now I know a bit better ๐Ÿ˜ So we have another important factor to consider that adds another dimension and complexity when evaluating dials!! Is not as simple as us noobs thought! crap!

No, it certainly isn't. There isn't one absolute guide, and most of us joke that there are more exceptions than actual rules. I don't think Omega had very much consistency until the 70's dials. (leave out service replacement dials from the equation)

You should also notice two different versions of the ฮฉ symbol. While both are from the same year, one is flat on the face and the other is rounded.

Is the serial on your new 2500 higher than the your old one?

10,680,164 for the first one - 10,761,297 for this one. So yes it is higher, but the movements were made the same year (1946). Can't tell when the complete watch was finished though, unless I fork over the money for an extract.

Got confused for a moment...I forgot there were other 2500s around here!
