Wow, that was fast. So should we be congratulating Dennis already?

This watch caused a small frenzy. I was surfing and checked in here in the midst of it, hit "WHAT'S NEW?" and saw a message from Kyle. Sent the seller a message because my first inclination is to negotiate. I immediately called Steve who talked some sense into me. His opinion is why haggle over a couple hundred on a watch I kick myself daily over trading? And he was right..... but lucky that I called him because he was about to hit the B.I.N. button. I had compared my pics of my old one with this and it passed muster and I'm sending a sizable deposit to the seller with final payment in a week or so when a nice fat check comes in.

 

And he was selling another one which sold for above 3k. I had no chance on this one.

 

Yeah, well I left it out there for at least 15 minutes - which is 14 3/4 longer than I should have.

Shucks. Even mods move at lightning speed when it comes to calling dibs.

 

I think mods should confer among themselves before the specimen is posted to the general public - don't we think?

 

Yep, I agreed to sell it to Steve first - if ever. He graciously let me have the extra 10 minutes to pull the trigger, and if I do end up keeping this (as I think he suspects I will) I'll eventually make it up to him.

..... and as he said, phone dibs outweigh internet dibs if claims are laid at roughly the same time.

Man, I feel good!

Except I gotta pass on the XVI, Reverso, and Aqua Terra I was considering. The XVI hurts a little but I had pretty much consigned myself that the seller's asking price was just too high, the Reverso had a couple dings on key surfaces that would have drove me nuts, and the AT is no big deal because it's a new model.

 

well done. I came across it 5 minutes ago. damn that is nice.

 

Actually, I was confering with Kyle and had asked Mike about it when Steve was bringing the listing up. Mike isn't on-line right now, and Kyle already liked it. After a quick check of the pics in my Photobucket account it was full steam ahead!
