No love for the SM300?

Thank you. Just an iPhone shot with paper backing. Yes I agree it’s much more comfortable with the keeper removed from the NATO. I for one, love the cream colored markers, I think pure white would have been too “loud”. To me it’s just beautiful the way they made it. Enjoy yours for many healthy years!

I’ve had mine for a few months and whilst I’ve always found the other Seamaster’s messy and fussy, this is so understated and really scratches the vintage vibe. Simple with some great touches like the white seconds hand.

Can anybody post up some lume shots? The SM300 is something i'm eyeing towards sometime this summer.

I was having a quick search online - some seem to come in a red small box and some in the wood finished larger box. I assume they just switched at some point but does anyone know when? I saw a 2016 with wood and 2017 with red - just an AD with an old supply of red boxes?

I believe the Seamaster 300 MC was introduced just before Omega switched to the wood box for all models in 2015, so some early ones were likely sold in the red box. Also, Just because a watch was sold in 2017 doesn’t mean it was produced then. The watch could have been in the AD for 3 years, and so would have had red box with it. Omega ships watches and boxes separately, and there is a code to indicate which box goes with which watch.

It’s also possible, as you speculate, that the AD mixed up the box, or wanted to get rid of a stock of the older red boxes.

I bought mine in late 2015, and it came in the standard (at that time) red box. In fact, the caseback still has a red dot indicating the original seal at the time of manufacture - a custom that has since been discontinued.

Superb black & white shot! I did the same with my Omega NATO strap... largely because the metal box on that extra keeper part of Omega's NATO straps isn't shielded by the strap, so the sharp metal chewed into my wrist.

I think tan leather is a match made in heaven for the both the SM 300 and the 60th anniversary. Harmonizing the aged lume on the dial.

Thanks! Yes I too love the tan strap

Why not?
Always feels a little too bulky. I’ve tried a few single pass natos that fit better, but not to the build quality of the Omega natos. I’m mostly bracelet, and occasionally rubber straps for most my watches.

For some reason the bulk never really bothered me. Love how it looks and feels on it. Gives off a nice smart casual look.

On my 7" wrist...

I feel exactly the same. And eventually I did the unthinkable ! I cut the redundant section of the Omega Nato off.
Much better fit, less bulk and kept the Omega nato quality.

Yes, I lost the metal keeper with the "Omega" engraving in the process, but I still have the signed buckle.

(Sorry, can't post any pictures as the watch is at service now).
