Thanks to those who posted this thread, I decided to jump on the speedy at the Chicago Boutique. Neither of my local AD’s had the updated clasp, and with the impending price jump (Boutique confirmed), I purchased this week.

That is the updated clasp, right?

Collected mine from Manchester England on Friday. A pleasant surprise.

Not heard about the price hike?

Excuse if some one already said but is the new clasp bigger in bulkiness or length compared to the older clasp?

I bought my hesalite 3861 on the strap knowing I'd pick up the polished version of the bracelet. I absolutely love it. It really highlights the polished bits in the case.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to hear someone who had seen the new speedy on both bracelets and with hesalite no less. I am definitely thinking now to go for the semi polished at this point. You have any pictures btw of the hesa with the polished bracelet? Thanks

Why thank you. I am already. The bracelet is even better than I’d hoped.

It's the same size as the previous 3861. Just with a cut out for the extension.

I posted some incomplete information earlier in this thread I’d like to correct.
The updated clasp with the connection link isn’t available for order yet, just the clasp is. I’ll be waiting to order the connection link. Also, the original bands for both hesalite and sapphire have been officially discontinued and replaced with the new band references including the adjustable clasp. Good news.

The length of the clasp certainly looks longer than the original version to cover the link in the extended position.

It is slightly longer. A little less than a link I would guess. Looks great though.

I pulled the trigger for the same reasons.

No price change yet in the U.S. as of today. I wonder if it’ll coincide with the 1/26 announcement.

I'm definitely old school. Even considering all of the improvements that the 3861 offers, I just can't imagine owning a Speedy without a tritium dial and handset. My '69 Straight Writing reminds me of all of the Apollo launches that I watched on black and white television. I vividly remember the grainy telecast of Armstrong coming down the ladder of the Lunar Module and stepping onto the surface of the Moon. I was 10 at the time.

Where did you find the new clasp? U.S.?
I bought a full bracelet. My OB said they couldn't sell just the clasp. I've heard others have been able to get them from their OB or AD.
