A Rolexforums member just purchased the sapphire Speedy from Omega yesterday, and the bracelet is now equipped with the on the fly micro adjustable clasp. The halo ring seems to have disappeared as well according to him and the photos

Looks like the clasp is a little longer? And with cutouts on the side to accomodate the sliding link. An improvement for those that need an on-the-fly adjustment. But I'm ok with the two adjustments on the old skool clasp so won't be needing the new setup.

Will be interesting to confirm if Omega was able to do something about the milky ring.

Hmm I’m swinging by an AD tomorrow already. I’ll have to ask about this. Maybe they’ll have some I stock or at least available to order.

Great updates to the watch. Jealous of that clasp though!

I would say crystal is the same.

The sapphire crystal in that pic is definitely very domed instead of a box crystal. Has this always been the case on the 3861?

I would say the Sapphire is the same, probably just the angle of the photo ? The milky disappears under certain light / angle ? Looks the same as mine ?
I think it's less visible than on the 1861 though.

Any mention of the number of positions ? Only 2 like the one on the Chronoscope ? I guess it's the same clasp ?

My understanding is the new 321 version got a newer sapphire crystal that had less milk ring effect. Maybe the 3861 is getting that newer crystal now? Don’t think it was the case before. Please correct me if I’m wrong about the 321.

The crystal of my 3861 also looks the same. It is domed, like the Omega website says.

I think the only difference is the clasp. I compared it to mine, and it is slightly different. Mine has two micro adjustments with holes drilled into the clasp. The posted clasp lacks of such holes and, instead, has a separate pusher underneath.

Omega website doesn't mention anything about the new bracelet yet. Hopefully this is how it will be released from Omega moving forward and it wasn't just an one-off mod.

Edit: I think this is the Chronoscope clasp rather than a new update to the Speedmaster. The guy who bought it probably ordered the clasp too and asked the AD to change it. There are people online who have done this before.

So it's just the chronoscope clasp and the same crystal?

Mabye that guy just found out what some other people already knew, that the real life halo in the 3861 crystal is very different from what he used to see in pictures of the old 1861/1863?

There has been no independent verification that these watches are now coming from the factory with this new setup, it would be wise to hold fire until we know what Omega is, or isn't doing.

The 321 Ed White has sapphire and no milky ring. It looks great.
