if anyone has actually used one in person they know the adjustability is so minimal if makes little to know difference

it's something like a 3mm adjustment

it's still better to have it than not have it i guess

at present I am on the leather strap, which I would love to have a half hole/link adjustment on.

I disagree. Wore mine to the beach a few weeks ago and my wrist swelled up from the travel, change in temps, etc., and it would have been unwearable without the microadjustment. With the adjustment, it was perfect all week until the swelling subsided.

Not sure of the size, but I use one of those little screwdrivers which are meant for adjusting reading glasses (you can get them very cheaply at any optician and many chemists) and they fit perfectly.

It is 1.6mm. I picked up one off Amazon - otherwise you risk stripping the screws.

Thanks a lot, I'll try a T shape 1,6 mm screwdriver then.

Can confirm 1.6mm, keep in mind the slots on these screws are quite wide, so to ensure the driver maintains a good grip and doesn't slide out sideways, or mark the screw slot I would suggest reshaping the driver tip a bit to make it thicker.

If your driver blade is too thin as you apply force to turn the screw you are putting all the load into just 2 small points on the screw, risking marking the screw, it also makes it very easy to slide sideways out of the screw slot.

if you dont have an arkansas stone or similar for screw driver reshaping on hand a piece of fairly fine sandpaper (1200 or so would probably do) put on a piece of glass so you have a nice flat surface would be useful for reshaping.

Really helpful, thanks a lot

I use a Wiha 1.5 mm screwdriver (German made) that I bought on Amazon for about $10. Have used it on a 3861, Ed White 321 and Apollo 11 50th bracelet with absolutely no issues. No need to dress it or anything, just use it, it will make quick work removing the bracelet screws on these newer bracelets with the tiny screws.

Agree with that, the 3861 bracelet is a vast improvement over the older design. I wore the Trilogy Speedmaster yesterday with its original bracelet, yikes, what a honking big clasp and overall thick bracelet.

If it can help, few macro, showing the perfect fit of the new Omega bracelet ref. 020Z017493 to the 1863 case.

Moreover, the female link of the bacelet to the case, insteed of the "old" bracelet one, makes the whole more balanced and allows the bracelet to adhere much better to the wrist.

Are you guys sure it is 1.6mm? I have no dog in the race but I have heard everybody saying 1.8mm from my research. I would like to know as Ill be changing the bracelet myself when ever I get it coming up.

I just pulled out a Wiha 1.8 mm and tried it on a 3861 bracelet screw, it is a very tight fit lengthwise in the screw slot. It'll probably work but make sure the blade is fully inserted and not hung up on the edge of the hole. I'd go down one size, that's what I use on the newer bracelets.

God, no, don't cheap out and use a crappy screwdriver on a $700 bracelet. You'll never generate enough torque to break the threads with something like this and you'll make a mess of things. Spend the money and do it right. A good screwdriver isn't that much, about $10 on Amazon for a German Wiha, but there are other good ones, too. And spend another $10 on a plastic bracelet block to hold and steady the bracelet while you work on the screws, it makes things go a lot easier..

I use the Bergeon drum barrel 1.8mm screwdriver. Fits perfectly and never had any issues. About $25 on eBay.
